In Finland, like the rest of the Nordics, Liverpool's support is down to their success from the mid-70s to late 80s. Finnish TV, like in Norway, Sweden...used to show one English game each weekend, typically the main game that Match of the Day would be featuring that evening as the cameras would be there anyway. As Liverpool were winning things, they were usually on Match of the Day as the main game. So, if you were a young football fan in Finland the only game you watched each week was 75% or more likely to be a Liverpool one.

Remember back then that this was probably the only way to get to know/support a team, aside from 2 day old results and match reports in a foreign paper so it stands to reason that Liverpool drew all the support.
Me and my pal (Spurs fan) were a bit more resourceful. As you say many of the games that were shown were Liverpool games but we listened to match reports live on BBC and biked into the city on Sundays to read the British newspapers at the international news-stand at the railway station. And we subscribed on Shoot of course. Lot of work being a fan of English football back in the seventies. And here in Norway Leeds and the scum were just as popular as Liverpool.

Not sure why they are still thought of as likely top 4 material to be honest. The media (and some on here to be fair) see them as challengers to the 'top 4 but they've finished below Spurs five times in the last six seasons and this season will make it 6 out of 7 and they will be fighting to finish top 6!
they will 100% finish above spurs and I'd say 90% finish top 4. with the players they have signed they are a risk to everyone. firminio and benteke should they gel will be awesome.

Think that's a wind up.

So who do you see falling out of the Top 4 Bill to allow Liverpool in? Are they credible title challengers in your opinion (my wife (a red scouse) seems to think they will be)?

See, that shows a bit of imagination and thinking. I'm talking about Finns...they're not known for their imagination.

the rags mate, i'll say this right now Liverpool are a threat. maybe not the title due to squad depth but they will be in the mix.

We need Arsenal or the rags to start a little slow.

Arsenal are usually in title-winning form as we all know during the early days, so hopefully the rags don't start out with 18/21 points or something silly.

Psychologically, it'll be bad for morale if Spurs, Rags, Arsenal and Everton are ALL out of sight after we're done with THAT brutal early sequence of games.
