Liverpool v City 1st leg CL Qtr Final post match

It's my opinion ric but with bayern and us he's fell well short in the champs lge. I know we are all disappointed but it's my view.
I agree, yes he did it with Barca but that was with some of the best players we’ve ever watched and maybe THE best player there’s ever been
I think at this level you will come across a team that will make you pay

Said before wouldn’t swap him just we might not win CL with him

In a game like that, where neither side is producing anything, it should be 0-0.

Liverpool got 3 goals without having to do anything.

Last year Monaco got several purely down to individual piss defending.

It's all well & good when City have 80% of the ball or score 4 goals, but these people at the back sometimes have to stand up & win us games when it goes wrong.

I can't remember a single game in recent years under any manager where that has happened.
And LFC defended properly when we attacked 2nd half. This is a team that's been derided for not being able to defend, but they did the basics, and we didn't.

Agree - I thought he played really well. For much as I love him, David Silva had his poorest game in years, it's not often you see him give the ball away so much, get caught in possession and throw his hands aloft without trying to get back. Did anyone else think something was seriously wrong with Walker in the first half? He played well later in the game but looked shot at during the twenty mins or so they really got at us. I first thought he was injured but his face bore the expression of a player completely lost. Anyway we are going to win 5-1 next week and they can shove their collective "you'll never walk alone" up their arses.

I like your confidence! Go on then, lets have it!

Thought Laporte was our best defender. Gundagon I don't really know what he does.

He was lost tonight pal....he didnt know whether to cone inside or stay wide and ended up doing neither. It isnt the first time that has happened with him, he needs to stay more central for me as that is his best position. I thought Bernado would have started tonight in all honesty

Were we dominated and completely overrun? Were we subjected to an onslaught of pressure and chances? Didn’t think so.
One disallowed good goal and a twice nailed on penalty denied. They scored an offside goal to boot. We got no justice tonight.
We controlled the game but just didn’t get the breaks. Sometimes that happens.
In almos 50 year’s of watching City I have certainly seen lots worse....

Well, they didn't had to as they were 3 up in 30 minutes with just 3 shots. After that, it's all about keeping a clean sheet which they managed very well.

OK perhaps I should have said, some of the shine. It's a setback and a big one. No point pretending otherwise.

I don't think anyone is pretending it's not a setback though? It patently is.

I am so depressed right now. Really wanted to win the UCL this season or atleast get to the final. This was our best chance considering the season we have had so far. Can't really believe we are already out of it.

Seem to remember being down to 10 men and losing 3-0 at half time and we won 4-3 in the end. And we were shit in them days.

Brought a tear to my eye reading this.

One of the best City games I've attended was us coming back to beat the Spuds in their back yard in the FA Cup.

I was tucked away in enemy territory & had to restrain myself when Jonny Macken scored the winner.

SWP ran them ragged that night - those were the days indeed!
