Liverpool v City 1st leg CL Qtr Final post match

Ball winning? He bottles most 50/50's probably due to previous injuries and 3 assists in 30 app doesn't scream killer through balls.
I said he's not known for striking killer through balls and assists. He's a talented lesser cog in the machine who should only be played in his favoured position. Fish out of water on the right.

This side has had no end of deserved plaudits and I expect will go on to have many more. So lets be brutally honest and come away from all the gushing praise and say it as it was tonight.

Abysmal, flat, lacking in any fight or passion, no bottle what so ever.....hope lessons will be learned they need to be because there is a very long way to go for this side to be great and I saw no evidence that they have the extra something they need to be such. Credit to Liverpool they got what they deserved and will without doubt go to the semi final where I expect they will come unstuck.

No rag/scouse excuses...the first goal was offside whinge whinge whinge the nasty scouses bricked the coach and should be thrown out......do fuck off a great team would have come away tonight still very much in it despite those things.

Fuck the derby after that...even if we win it will be and should be hollow means fuck all the title is won whether this week or next, but when it came down to it come the biggest game we came up woefully short and now we will see if any of our players have got the bollocks to pull us back into it next Tuesday. Infact most who fucked that up tonight would be told they aint playing against the rags, they can wait until next Tuesday to see if they can make a fist of turning that bloody awful shambles tonight around.
My thoughts exactly mate.

I don't think Gundogan is good enough, however I had absolutely no complaints until Sane, Walker & Otamendi decided to hand Liverpool a goal on a fucking plate.

We were looking absolutely excellent & Macmanaman was already starting to get depressed about the football lesson we were about to hand them.

Tactics are irrelevant when individuals play as shitely as that.

We would be nowhere near he top of the league, if we routinely defended like that. It was Leicester, Celtic, Monaco, from last season.
Yes I agree. It was a shambles. We commented on Chelsea's ridiculous defending for Allis second at the weekend and their first tonight was every bit as shambolic. Why walker didnt just kick it out with his left only he knows. Ox had a free shot from 19yards and Fernandinho was left to mark 3 on Manes header. We were all over the show. Trouble is we had no chance to get back in to it with Gundogan on the right. We had to go to Sane all the time and this allowed them to double up on him. Add to that he didnt produce like he can and were never getting back in to this game.

Are 40 years of watching city i never understand why we always play so bad at anfield considering the quality players we've have had for the last 6+ years? Most of the players seem to freeze, even the managers, Mancini, Pellegirini and now Pep, is it the atmosphere, coach reception, who knows, but what a season. Roll on Saturday and hopefully Tuesday, come on City.

A fan who'd rather be right about predicting a loss than win. "I told you we'd get tonked"; true spirit of football that.

Fuck off, I’m saying I got abuse for being realistic instead of a deluded twat. You think I wanted to sit in a boozer tonight with united and Liverpool fans celebrating and be right. You think I wanted to pay for a ticket for the home leg and be right? No but unless you’re a bitter deluded cretin on here you’re not in the gang

The person who disappointed me the most was the one who I thought would win the game for us. David Silva was poor tonight. He has very high standards but he didn't get anywhere near tonight.

Our most important game of the season and the Wizard didn't turn up.

It was a collective failure. David was no more or no less to blame than anyone else. Overcoming Liverpool at Anfield will be a team effort, not due to individual miracle workers.

I agree with you that individual players mistake had cost us the game, but do you really believe that Pep shouldn't be responsible as well for the result ? lack of chances ?

Pep is responsible because he is the manager but, as is often the case in these situations, it is far less his fault than the players (and the officials).

I genuinely think many people lose perspective on occasions like this.

We had players doing things that cost us that had nothing to do with tactics or kack of innate ability. For example on the first goal, why didn’t Walker just knock it out for a corner?

Yup.

Just shocked how we abandoned our playing style of playing out from the back and hoofed it forwards relentlessly....to the tiniest frontline in European football.
I would say they need to ask themselves questions of the tactics, but what answers are acceptable?
Just a piss poor plan and percormance. Worrying though that pep doesn't really know how to handle klopp at all, and this is after many many meetings.
