Liverpool V City post match discussion.

Awful performance today, Liverpool are a poor team, playing at Anfield or not, we should have beaten them today, we were the best team for 20 minutes and then switched off.

2 goals given away from set pieces, first was poor, poor marking, our worst header of the ball marking their best, defence coaching/planning needs sorting.

The second, Ok it wasn't a free kick, but was given, and we should know what Suarez is capable of, so put an extra man on the wall and he doesn't get the ball around it.

But the worse thing about today, that formation was awful, no seemed comfortable, Yaya becomes ordinary playing deep and gets in the way and leaves to much of a gap between mid and forwards, we don't need two holding midfielders against a team like Liverpool, even when playing three at the back, Kolo showed Lescott is the better partner for Vinnie, and Zaba is clearly a better right back than centre half. And Mario still needs to do more.

Very disappointed today.

Early doors but easy to see Liverpool are much better and organized under Rodgers than they were under Dalglish. You can't just look at the 3-0 scoreline from last week and say Liverpool are wank. They aren't CL qualifiers this year probably but they are improved.

Agree with whoever said we miss Gaz Baz dearly. Hopefully he'll be back vs Stoke (should be able to beat QPR without him)

Its a frigging joke Rednapp is more anti City then Gary Neville. That twat cannot say one positive thing about us !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What an absolute cock Jamie Redknapp is, his loathing of us is there for everyone to see.

3-5-2 = Changing something that isn't broken.
During half-time gary neville said" why change from a system which won you the league to this".we do look more open at the back, and as you say if its not broke why change, still a good point would have took it before kick-off....

Would have been another 3-2 if Edin didn't need so many chances to score a goal, should have buried that.
Look at the other way, Shelvey went inches close and Carrol should have buried that header, it makes you feel better.

Completely wrong starting line-up IMO. Should have started with Lescott, Dzeko, and Clichy (though it's understandable why he didn't play). Silva played well for the 20 or so minutes he was on.

Tevez worked as hard as ever. Nasri should have stayed on because even though he was anonymous taking him off sapped us of all creativity. Dzeko seems in good form (though he should work on his finishing). Balotelli should have never gotten the start. Yaya is still our savior as usual.

EDIT: and never a foul by Rodwell.

Got to agree.
We can't be going to Anfield playing 5 or 6 of our second fiddle and expect to dominate or even do ourselves justice.

It certainly has highlighted that the squad is not strong enough and definitely lacks a spark.
Lescott, Clichy, barry, Silva, Aguero did not start. They would normally do so.

I'd have taken a point before KO, and when I saw the team I thought it didn't look good.

dont forget they were without agger, lucas, downing and carol :-)

.... and who intercepted it, rounded the 'keeper and put it in the net...

Tevez was fantastic without doubt but looked an awful lot better with Edin pulling the defence about and actually trying for the team. I'm a big fan of Balotelli's talent, but he offered so little today. Edin really deserves to start the next game, was very unfortunate not to start today.
Dzeko's hold up and link up play was decent but his shooting is poor, Mario was poor altogether today.

Against QPR (and even stoke) I'd go with Dzeko and Tevez

Absolutely, 4-2-3-1 as well. I'd be tempted to give Rodwell games, with Yaya pushed forwards, he's looked good so far, made a few crucial blocks today (including one that should never have been a free kick).
