Liverpool Vs City (CC) Post Match Discussion Thread

Any further discussion not in english will be deleted, as will any further anti-bosnian, or anti-city posts.

This is the thread to discuss last nights performance (or lack of it), not the ins and outs of bosnian support of Dzeko.

Hey lads.
Comiserations for last night, and im not here to wind you up.
No way was that a pen against Richards, it was hard luck that but the ref gets one shot at it to make a decision. The same with the Dzeko incident, there's a discussion to be had over it as upon replay it looked dodgy but again, the ref has to make a decision there and then.

To be fair though I was surprised at the line up you put out, no Milner or Aguero to start ?
Great options to come off the bench like but I was convinced youd come out all guns blazing and really give it some.

I think its fair to say that we edged the game just about, Joe Hart ? What a keeper eh.
Great piece of business that, was it 600k ? And he was very gracious after the game and you have to admire that.

Listen, for me, Its fantastic to get to a final, after a few yearsd without one and our club an hour away from going out of business, it makes it even more sweet and you get to appreciate the finer things in life, but you guys need to stick together and fight for the title now, believe me If Im honest id rather be in with a realistic chance of the title like you guys but it is what it is, so good luck and hopefully we can knock them lot out of the FA Cup saturday.

Best.
Fair comment, we were pretty poor in both games to be honest, and deserved nothing, this happens even when you are a good side. Mancini should have played a stronger team last night, we don't play for 10 days. Good luck at the weekend, though a little bit of me hopes "they" stay in the FA Cup now, as it gives them something else to think of, its only a little bit of me, and it makes me feel unwell if I'm honest.

Haha. Well Europa League will distract them also, but I suppose the same applies to you also. But good luck anyway.

Johnson set up Bellamys goal

Johnson should have been sent of in the first leg, been given a 3 match ban and been ineligable for the game.

Johnson replacements would have been Carragher or Kelly - neither would have been that far up the field

Yeah, but if shit was rice pudding ?

We did not do enough in the two legs to win, on to the next game.

lol, alright, point taken...anyway...what I was trying to say is that there are some people really only repeating one sentence basically, the one being "dzeko is shit" without providing arguments for it...and it seems there is a lot of undercover rags/wums on the forum...those were the people I directed my statement in bosnian against
Well in future do it in english please.

point taken mate ;)

P.S. Kolarov cross last night...the only one that was good enough and Dzeko gets at the end of it....those are the things I was telling you about...
Its not like I haven't watched and played football for over 40 years, I think I know what crossing a ball to a centre forward can create, the problem is Kolorov rarely puts in a decent cross, (in fact we don't possess a player who can put in a decent cross in the squad unfortunately), and Mancini does not want to play football with wingers, I'm sure I mentioned that too. Dzeko is also capable of receiving the ball centrally, and turning, earlier in the season he was good at it, he's quite good at running on to through balls, but just now his touch isn't there, and his positioning for making those runs isn't great either. Its called being off form, and outfield wise last night I thought he was probably our second best player, which shows how poor the rest were if I'm honest.

Last night was the wrong team selection, simple as that.

just pointed out the practical example of our discussion...not that I disagree with you...in any of those comments you made above...

I don't think the europa league will distract us long, if at all, weakened teams in both legs I expect.

I think our team selection last night (and in the first leg) shows where our priorities lie, and its not in winning a cup. If we'd got through the CL it might have been different, but we didn't, and I think we'll use the EL for blooding a few younger players and giving our second string an outing now, I expect we'll play two more games in europe this season.

Yep, but still its a Cup, and you build yer success on them and you build yer reputation on them also, so was very surprised to see Mancini put out that team.
You have to try and win ALL trophies, I think he let you down last night.

Totally agree, but its not my or your job on the line, and finishing 2nd or 3rd, and winning the CC or EL won't keep Mancini in one I suspect, but winning the PL will,

I'm sure he's been told just that. Nobody has ever won 4, a couple 3, and only a hand full 2, so I'm happy to settle for the 1 for now, and I think we will win the league, that's not arrogant, its just I think the players also want that the most, and once we have the title, we can look to winning multiple titles in the future, hopefully one day we'll be the first to do all four (I can dream).

Get past Porto and the rest of the opposite are very wank. We would be able to rotate heavily against the other opposition; almost forcing us to play our strongest sides in Prem.

I imagine you win cups by not losing. And in that department Liverpool's defence looked a lot better than ours over 2 legs.

Without Kompany they look at sea. He and Micah are fine. But next year we need a new CB and a new LB.

Kolarov and Kolo out. Lescott to back up CB.

I don't understand why we didn't play our strongest team when we don't have a game on the weekend. Also, 5 at the back was pointless. Richards was left isolated in between Savic and Zabaleta. If you're going to play him centre back we didn't really need 3 at the back, wasted a position in my opinion.

Anyway, Liverpool were better over 2 legs so fair play.
