Liz Truss

He might be a slimy twat but he's a competent slimy twat - which is why he's nowhere near the front bench which is entirely occupied by talentless Johnson yes men/women.
Indeed.

The slimy git would be my Tory pick to replace Boris. He's got the intellect to challenge Starmer.

its Afghanistan all over again - why would anyone local anywhere in the world work for the UK Govt - from translator to office cleaner you end up as important to them as the shit on the sole of their shoe.....

Every top position in that fucking horrendous government is filled with a parody.
It’d be funny if it wasn’t so sad. A shambles of a party and absolutely shameful there’s still many who don’t see it.
The future generations looking back and commenting/writing about this era will not be kind.
And we have the misfortune for them to be in charge during the two biggest crises since WW2.

I don't understand why we have to be so obstructive about obvious refugees fleeing a warzone wanting to come to the UK. Boris Johnson is saying we have a world beating Visa system, but that's an easy claim to make when we are the only country in Europe requiring Visas before they can enter.

There was a couple with a dog stranded in Calais on the news that had been refused entry to the UK that were trying to reach relatives in Liverpool. They had no other welcoming place they could think of going to in Europe, and they looked lost and bewildered.

I watched the debate in the House of Commons earlier today after the Ukrainian president had signed off, and Priti Patel was nodding her head in agreement when the wannabe Churchill was banging on about humanitarian assistance for them.

Hypocrisy of the highest order, and it makes my blood boil that we have only issued 300 visas.

It shouldn't be a surprise really, when consideration is given to how little they care about the plight of so many living in poverty and relying on foodbanks to survive.

They couldn't give a shit about the average Brit, so why should they care about bloody foreigners?

About to do a news conference with blinken , he will show her up big time , popcorn ready and shots for every time she tells a lie

Hic

"we will be supplying air defence systems to address the specific issues the Ukrainians face, which is air defence"

Mouth opens, random words fall out.

I can't believe that she started one answer with "first of all in answer to your question...."
It's embedded in them that they must talk rubbish. Does she normally not intend to answer the question?

Yeah, I suppose appealing to the elderly racist Mail and Express readers is all that matters. They received their vote at the Russian financed referendum, went even further with their lies at the last election to 'get brexit done', and it didn't matter one jot to their supporters their manifesto contained the treason bill that will make scenes of police oppression similar to those we have seen from protestors in St Petersburg being carted off to 15 year prison sentences a similar offence in the UK,

I may have got this wrong here, though. It may be public criticism of the government that carries a 15 year sentence. and protesting about it is just a 10 year sentence.

Whatever way round it is, it will be the executive that will be the judge, jury, and executioner, and not the legal process.

If Priti Patel doesn't like what you are saying, you'll be banged up.

Political prisoners in the UK.

It's the biggest assault on our rights since the Magna Carter was signed, but it's not all bad news. The House of Lords has rejected the notion that illegal immigrants are criminals. It couldn't be any other way, really, as we are members of the United Nations and wrote the rules defining the legal status of people arriving in countries without documents in the 1940's. What a bloody horrible country we live in now when the altruism of the generations that fought two world wars is now long lost, and barriers are put in place to deter displaced people wanting a safe place to live by a government that cares more about appealing to its core support of ignorant elderly racists than being decent human beings.

Our unbelievably high quality Foreign Secretary said the the release of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe was a result of "tenacious British diplomacy". This doesn't say much for the tenacity of the previous 4 who failed to secure her release and, in one case, lengthened it.

Truss had her arse handed to her in the press conference earlier. How dare she sell it as a win for instagirl!

I can just imagine the mouth-foaming vein-throbbing response from mail/express gammons at the treatment of Russian anti-war protesters at the hands of the state police for simply wanting freedom like we have.

Cracked me up that she even tried that one. Fair play. Politics in this country is really down the toilet. It's like Pep coming out after the CL final and saying we played really well and the reason we won the game is because we worked so hard for it. Of course, we lost, but don't let facts influence your words.

We paid a debt after 6 years. That isn't diplomacy, that's business.
