Liz Truss

It was a comment, but these 'throwaway comments' put the fear of the Almighty up a lot of voters, whether they were conservative or potential labour voters. What exactly was she attempting to achieve?
I’d say anyone outraged by that comment is just looking for things to be outraged about to justify their support for their favoured party.

That they're even contemplating bringing back that self-obsessed arsehole shows what little credibility the Tories have left. I'm all for it. It'll finish them.

I think her notion that there are 'scum' on the opposite benches doesn't endear her to anyone who thinks we are desperate for sensible government. Might have been alright for Aneuring Bevan, but Angie will never be Bevan!
It’s that sort of language and attitude that turns people away from politics and creates voting abstainers.

It becomes a thing where serious people start to think ‘right, we’ll leave politics for the juvelines involved while us grown-ups will just get on with our lives in the real world ignoring everything to do with politics and whatever will be will be’.

I haven't got a favoured party, although I do have an ambition to vote for the Monster Raving Loonies, but I feel her comments are symptomatic of MPs who would promote a narrow agenda instead of putting their efforts into what is best for the nation as a whole.

I applaud anybody for standing up for what they believe in and getting involved in politics and being successful enough to become an MP... She's (Rayner) certainly had a few foot in mouth moments though

That's because nobody except maybe Schroedinger could deliver on brexit, as it was an illogical impossibility built on lies and selfish political expediency.
She only had Johnson's mandate which had been largely torn up, but actually inflicted on us a what would count for a failed A level economics project on us got us to where we are.

Just seen the speech, her smiling and laughing has infuriated me.

She’s ruined mortgages for millions of people, made worse a cost of living crisis.

And turned the country into a laughing stock.

She should be fucking ashamed.
Absolutely. Her opening gambit was that she started office in difficult financial circumstances, what she failed to say was "I am leaving having made it much worse"
