Liz Truss

Oh, Boris added far more mirth to the joy of the nation than Lizzie would ever do. i'm not greatly interested in the political acumen of these people, I just want to be entertained, and Boris was a great mix of slapstick, Morecambe 'n Wise, Tommy Cooper and a touch of Tony Hancock. Truss is the entertainment equivalent of a wet weekend in Wigan.
The joke wore off a long time ago for most of us.

Although politically getting rid of the 45p additional rate was the biggest cock up, fiscally it wasn’t a huge part of the overall package and doing a U-turn on that part of the package won’t make a huge difference to the markets because £43bn out of £45bn of tax cuts funded by borrowing are still in place. The only way to settle the markets imo is to scrap the whole package and get a new PM and chancellor who aren’t idiots.

Having said that it’s probably just a new Chancellor we’ll have to settle for in the short term which will hopefully calm things to some extent if he’s deemed to be competent. The problem is that Truss is unlikely to choose anyone competent.
I've seen it many times especially at higher management positions within many sectors of industry where limited people promote only those who are no threat to their position.
No experience of H.o C politics but perhaps there are not any capable individuals but if there are Ms Truss will ignore them and promote someone she can fire if things go wrong.

If comparing the two I'd give BJ some credit for seeking at least some consensus on approach within his party. Brexit was the dirty deal he did to get the backing of the right wing press but the rest of his policy was fairly benign (fron a tory perspective). He accepted that he needed to raise tax to fix social care even if many right wingers would just prefer to wish the problem away. Maybe not the same mix and rates of tax options that Left wing types would pick but the basics of tax more to spend more was there and had support. His failure on many other aspects of leadership overshadow all this.

I get the vibe that the right wing think tanks and press influencers thought that maybe if the BJ and possibly Tory regime is coming to an end they should just go all out. See what they could get away with.

She forgets that the rank and file blue rinse of the shires got her elected but her own MPs can see her off. They didn't vote for her, and the non-entities occupying ministerial posts granted to them on the back of supporting her are in a minority. The most vacuous, ill-equipped PM in living memory, and I can just remember Anthony Eden making a bugger of the job.
Gosh! I know his name but if you can remember him your amazing, wasn’t he the one that said. “peace in our time” on a bit of paper
They all come into office wanting to wear the crown but it doesn’t take long for it to fall off.
They just don’t have any understanding or sympathy for people grafting from morning until night. I’m not on the breadline but I still worry that future generations, will be paying for these mistakes.

No that was Chamberlain.

I see the stock market is 6% down from when Truss took over, and 8% down from when she actually did anything because it rose for the first week or so in the aftermath of the Queen's death while normal government business was suspended. Everything she touches turns to shit.

she is doing a reverse Midas

Nooooo, Eden was the Suez fellah. You're thinking of Neville Chamberlain - I'm sure he's some relation to the Nevilles. Has the same forename as Gary and Phil Nutter's Dad!
