Long Lost Manchester Pubs.

Not lost but moved a few times.

Great stuff, and thanks for posting. Thanks to the Licensing Act 1988, Sinclair’s in Shambles Square was the first pub I had an afternoon drink in, handily located near the office where I had my first job. 1980s Shambles Square was a total eyesore, and quite undeserving of 2 such fabulous buildings. Bizarrely, I never once went in the Old Wellington next door, and I’ve still never been in the new one. On the bucket list, like watching a win at Anfield.

Weirdly what I found interesting is the explanation of the word shambles and why I would have been a vegetarian back in the day :)

I can just imagine everyone gulping pints of ale down and launching Oyster shells at each other.

I’d like to go out on Friday for a proper drink but all four pubs in usual walking distance have entertainment on be it a singer, karaoke or DJ.

Its put me off.
