Looking back, how do you feel about Hughes now?

It was time for Hughes to go.

Fuck how we did it. How we went about the sacking may well have been harsh on Hughes but it was best for the club, the team and the fans so no complaints from me.

Yes it was harsh but no more harsh than the fact Hughes forced me to sit through numerous 3-3 draws with shit clubs after spending 700 zillion on players. For that price I expected only 1 thing...football. Instead we got the 'pleasure' of seeing expensive and gifted players being forced to play direct route one long ball football.

Mancini has been a breathe of fresh air and I'm very confident with him at the helm.

Looking back, it's clear Hughes was under achieving in every aspect.

totally agree with this m8!

i was a hughes supporter when he was here though loyalty i was all for him to be given the chance to last the season,i am by far not naive and could see problems in the team like most of but hoped that he could sort them out but sadly he could not.

with mancini coming in we can all see this now and the way the team is playing, looks like the players all so know is as well like de jong last night said about training and tactics and how well everybody has taken to mancini and his ways.

i all so have to give a big hand to who ever made these decisions because it has revived our season!

i just hope this continues.

Some fans are so naive. Can we be honest for once and just admit the tafia was shite. Those who think we would have won last 4 games with Hughes are deluded. we cldnt beat burnley and Hull. Early days for Mancini but the results not down to luck. Down to the excellent shape of team and hard work when we haven't got the ball. Sorry if it upsets some but we owe the tafia nothing. If we win a cup or qualify for champs league it will be down to Mancini. I for one think we would have done neither with Hughes.

In hindsight it's a great tragedy to see him leave cause watching City play football (??) and reading the board and being smug over the sheer stupidity of it all has been a great release and source of confidence for me. Who knows what I'm to do now that I can't savour the feeling of being utterly superior to a horde of driveling fools?

Pottery..?

This is how people get killed.

I can't understand the hatred towards Mark Hughes on here??

Sure, Mancini's probably a far better manager with much more "big club" experience, but MH (imo) is an honest enough bloke who was simply out of his depth. Also he seemed to be happy settling for sixth place wheras Roberto wants to aim for the stars.

But MH is a young manager, who will learn from this and come good in several years time.

wtf are you on about nicky?

I wanted him out in the summer, I think we'd be in a better position than we are now if he'd gone then. We are well rid of him and the rest of the taffia, they aren't good enough for City.

If managers were cars.... we went from a Vauxall Astra to a Ferrari.

If managers were pop groups.... we went from Lady Ga Ga to Oasis

If managers were TV Programmes..... we went from Casualty to Ross Kemp In Afghanistan

If managers were planets... we went from pluto to the SUN.

If managers were brands of lager we went from SKOL to Stella Artois

If managers were models we went from Rab C Nesbit to David Beckham.

We did quite well getting rid of Hughes when we did.
just a bit picky I know but the sun isn't a planet

It was unfortunate that Hughes was unable to see that his back room staff were probably the reason why he never really succeeded at City. It was also unfortunate the way that we parted company with him; but like a few on here have said we now have what looks like a manager who has the cahoonas to take us to the top and improve players to the standard they should be at ,so we should just forget Hughes and move on with the good times just around the corner.

Hughes made some basic changes at the club which needed making, and without his drive and tenacity the platform Mancini inherited would not be nearly as well made.

However, Mark Hughes was not an intelligent manager and we would not have progressed any further under his leadership.

The only good thing Hughes did was to buy the players he did. Every player has proved himself to be a great signing and will take the club forward. His problem was not having a clue how to manage them and being tactically inept.

So all in all thank you Mark Hughes for-

Given, Zab, Toure, Lescott ( give him time), Bridge (he will come good), De Jong, Barry, SWP, Kompany, Adebayor, Tevez, RSC (give him a chance).

Not a bad set of players for Mancini to work with.
