Looking back, how do you feel about Hughes now?

still believe it was unfair to sack him and still believe he would have been a success.....

Mancini has done well since he came in and certainyl tightened up the defence, we are playng a lot more contained football which in my opinion is not as attractive to watch but is certainly better defensive.

I think MH would have got the same results (albeit with maybe conceeding more than we have done under Mancini) and we would be in the same position anyway.......................we now have a lot more sterner tests ahead starting with everton at weekend....but also we will have playes coming back like swp, ade (maybe not for everton tho) and eventually ireland and bridge and lescott.....lets see how we do then against better opposition but also with more available options for the manager.

All in all i was disappointed in the sacking of MH as i thought he was doing a decent job, but we have to move on and support mancini

opinions how they can vary.

sorry no disrespect meant. but if you cant see the difference.

you must be deluding yourself, thinking mark hughes would have got the same results no way

les was tactically naive

Does anyone think Lescott is worth 24 mil or RSC 17.5? Toure 14?

We needed cover for sweep we got 3 defensive midfielders.

He sold our second best creative midfielder after benching him into submission. He almost got rid of Petrov. He may have done irreparable damage to Robinho.

Transfer genius my arse!

My thoughts haven't changed.

I always thought he was out of his depth from day 1 never mind with the money. We had too many good players playing poorly for him to be a good manager. He will amount to nothing more than a journeyman mangaer who never quiet made it to what the media wanted him to be, a bit like Redknapp really but not as good

If managers were cars.... we went from a Vauxall Astra to a Ferrari.

If managers were pop groups.... we went from Lady Ga Ga to Oasis

If managers were TV Programmes..... we went from Casualty to Ross Kemp In Afghanistan

If managers were planets... we went from pluto to the SUN.

If managers were brands of lager we went from SKOL to Stella Artois

If managers were models we went from Rab C Nesbit to David Beckham.

We did quite well getting rid of Hughes when we did.

I backed Hughes to get us where we need to be. I stand by that. He was an unlucky manager. The biggest problem was that he divided the fans and that was reflected in the players. Some fans never gave him a chance and were desperate for him to go from the day he got the job. Towards the end the whole team looked so nervous probably because they felt the pressure that a bad performance would lose the manager his job. I would have liked to have seen him really given time in the job but I can see why he was sacked given the way we were slipping behind a bit.

Bobby Manc has come in and the atmosphere around the club and fans has improved obviously led by some good team performances. But he's played 4 teams without a decent centre-forward between them. Let's see how he does in the tougher matches before hailing him the messiah.

We have a new man in charge, let's ALL get behind this one. Forget about Hughes now, he's gone.

i had the feeling les was never going to be the man. but tried to give him my backing as long as i could justify it.

from what i have seen so far with an injury list as long as an elephant todger. ill still back bob to get us where we want to be. heres my bollox on the block 4th or better, if we get our players back from injury we will be 1st or 2nd in prem. win the cc and at least semi finalist in fa cup.

It was time for Hughes to go.

Fuck how we did it. How we went about the sacking may well have been harsh on Hughes but it was best for the club, the team and the fans so no complaints from me.

Yes it was harsh but no more harsh than the fact Hughes forced me to sit through numerous 3-3 draws with shit clubs after spending 700 zillion on players. For that price I expected only 1 thing...football. Instead we got the 'pleasure' of seeing expensive and gifted players being forced to play direct route one long ball football.

Mancini has been a breathe of fresh air and I'm very confident with him at the helm.

Looking back, it's clear Hughes was under achieving in every aspect.

exactly that, and we did treat him terribly at the end

Bullshit. If they guy had plucked more Kompany's and Zaba's out (good players for small fee's) and we were in 4th then yea, fair enough. But he spent £200 million for fucks sake. How do you not have a good squad when you take a team that's finished 8th (or whatever it wa sunder Sven) then add £200 million worth of talent? The question is, did we get our moneys worth? £57 million on Lescott, Toure and RSC will give you your answer

Hughes deserves no or very little credit for his time at City. Blues fans need to wake up and realise that. It's just a good job we got rid rite before he was about to do the club a lot of damage

Exactly, total Bullshit.
I do like Lescott, Toure and RSC, but £57 million the prick (like a kid let loose in a sweet shop)
And he sold Dunne an Elano, imagine them with Bobby Manc.
18 wasted months.........

Totally agree. Thank god he is gone. Totally useless for what we needed and I thought it was obvious from pretty early on.

He did buy good players although hardly inspired and latterly overloaded us with strikers when we could have done with some defenders.

Sorry to not be more grateful for his time here.

Hated him when he joined, thought he was the luckiest man in football to keep his job after we started the 09 year in a relegation fight and finished lower than the season before, really really really hated him after spurs game and dont hate him now, felt bit sorry for him, then Bobby came in and smashed it up. Now i cant remember who hughes is!!!!
