Looking down on 'glory hunters' is arrogance

The gloryhunters that disgust me the most aren't actually southern based rags, at least they're honest. The ones I'm talking about are the ones you see "supporting" lower league or non league clubs in the FA Cup, when their team gets a dream draw against a Premier League side. You know the type, they turn up with their curly wigs, foam hands, and tin foil FA cup, making out they're their clubs biggest fan, but when the big day is over, its back to not giving a shit, and supporting the rags or Liverpool. Its just bizarre, that a small town club that gets average crowds of just 1000, or 3000, takes 7000 to a Premier League ground, or a full, sell-out attendance if its a home draw. It disgusts me because its so plastic. Turn up when its Man United, no where to be seen if they're playing Brackley Town.

I haven't dug myself a hole to begin with

Best chuck the spade away just in case.
At least I know the answer to my question.

No you don't because you didn't have the balls to ask any question. You just insinuate and make wrong suppositions. So I'll take a guess before we bore everyone shitless. Answer: (a) 12 inches, or (b) 50 years, depending on the question. Either way, probably longer than you/yours. Oh by the way, one is true and the other a porkie. Take your pick.

Oh dear, I think you'd be best going back to my original post and pressing ctrl + A...

Can I have my hook, line and sinker back please?

For me, I prefer drawing a fine line between supporters and fans. Personally, I've never been to a City game, I mean that's obvious considering I live like oceans apart.

And because of that, I always felt that I have never, ever contributed directly to the welfare of the club, thus I avoid saying I'm part of City, and use the collective word "We" in personal meetings with other football fans.

Most of the time I just try to use the word, "City" instead.

Unless of course, when I'm on the net, I used the word "We", it's just easier to type.

This is only part of this thread that is relevant, the rest is just venting and blustering.

Why anyone would care who supports City and how is a mystery to me, and surely we only used the "glory hunter" label against United because it's pretty much the only thing we could hit them with for the last 20 years. Come on, though, why does anyone get so worked up about it, unless someone is losing their place at the ground?

On that note, do you really think owners that are investing so much into the local community are going to price out local fans? I think you are doing them a big disservice.

Too many angry people out there if you ask me ......

The only time it becomes a problem is when prices just go up so high and the fans with the most money are the only important ones, meaning some proper fans start missing out. As GSW said above (bang on too!) going to games means more to me than winning trophies does, so if it meant I couldn't go I'd just rather City weren't successful anymore so I could go. I went when we were shit and, on the whole, enjoyed it as much as any time in the last two years.

Anyone who changes team ala Vinjay is a glory hunter - How he could do that is beyond me.

Anyone who supports city whether they go or not is fine by me (and I am sure our owners will agree).......

Just make sure you are a posh platinum member if you do go! :-)
