Looking down on 'glory hunters' is arrogance

That's because you're a very black and white (not a racial term) kind of person aren't you? Your comments (and others with similar) on the Meppen Walter thread kind of summed that up and that's a key reason the initial thread ended up in a massive argument.

Virtually all football fans are glory hunters. Unless you're saying most fans of lower league teams show up hoping they lose every week?

trust me, not everyone supporting city came for Glory Vinjay, the first game i watched the full 90mins for city was the 5-0 defeat at Old Trafford in 94, watched it with a mate who was a big blue,

something clicked in me when i watched him watching that game and how wound up/upset he was, went to the next game, wimbledon i think, won 2-1, didn't miss a game that season after that bought a season ticket 95-96 and haven't ever looked back,

i can assure you there was no glory there, just an instant connection to the club that has never left me, and never will.

if City had never won anything it wouldn't make a difference to me going, winning things wasn't even a consideration and if it all goes tits up now, then so be it, won't stop me going.

I think I hear the sound of bars rattling on someone's cage.

How about placing a ban on all new supporters for the next 10 years, then we'll have no glory hunters (or "drooling cretins" as you called them earlier). Oh wait, we'd better make it retrospective to the takeover to make really sure. Happy now?

And before some knobhead confuses length of time on BM with time as a City supporter (as if they hold the moral high ground)...engage...brain...first.
Convenient that YOU say that. will he bite?

So the honour falls to you. Would you like to risk digging yourself a bigger hole by elaborating?

O dont upset him mate or you will receive a PM for a private handbags dual.

Now you tell me! Bracing myself for the predicted onslaught. ;)

What the fuck has the Meppen Walter thread got to do with the fact you are a glory hunter. You changed your team about 5 years ago. Fucking hell when are you changing again? Pathetic and Blackburn are better off without fans like you.

Yeah I was a glory hunter on those 2 away trips to plymouth....run along knob job

wont be saying that if they price you out / stop you from seeing city

Bluebana, so what do we do man stand still close the door, shut up shop . We have only just started to fill the staduim because of our success. If it wasnt for the so called tourists on european nights the stadium would be empty. So by your logic how do we compete and carry on with FFP if we dont have the new fans to help generate income. Have collection buckets at each game or would the owners have to put up the price of tickets. Think about it.

the fanbase is already there, we got a full stadium in our first year in the new ground. There are plenty of mancunians and fans that have always been there, its all about pricing and being able to keep the core fanbase that weve always had. You only have to look at teams like chelsea- ten years ago had one of the best home grounds in the league ie atmosphere now most of that fanbase has gone, same with united they had great fans about 15/20 years back now they have mainly all been replaced- mainly due to pricing.

We didnt have a full stadium in the first year, we couldnt even fill it for the very first game, although it was against some welsh minnows and it wasnt filled during the Pearce era. its only recently we have been able to fill the stadium due to the success of winning silverware.

I hate to admit this, but before this, the only game we could gaurantee a full stadia was when we played the rags.

But putting this to one side and concentrating on your and others fear and phobia of new fans or as you call them glory hunters.

Manchester turned out 200,000 to support the open bus parade. What do you class the 153,000 as? Because some of the logic on here they had no right to be there and there should have been only 47000 proper fans?

You still have not answered my question. If we were to ban all new fans from supporting city how do we generate extra income. Or are you saying its ok for so called glory hunters to spend all their money on city merchandice as long as they dont visit the stadium.

If you have a season ticket why worry, get the glory hunters in because we need our stadium expanded if we are going to be a true superpower.

That's very classy a gay slang reference.

I could rant all night about the type of people Rovers fans are but there's hardly likely to be much interest on here about that.

You don't need to rant all night about the type of people Rovers fans are. We have our very own "Exhibit A" in front of us - You!

God forbid should your "New Club" end up on the rocks for whatever reason and City all of a sudden found themselves in a Leeds-of-a-few-seasons-back or a Pompey, what ever the fuck will you do then?

Probably look for the next 'up and coming' club when the going gets tough.

CHEESE ALERT!!!

I honestly can't comprehend, the fact that someone can 'change teams'. I didn't choose to be a city supporter, the club chose me, (cheesy bit) in my first visit, to the area on the left corner of the kippax in the mid eighties. The place reeked of piss, the football was shite, but somehow i felt a sense of belonging. When we were in division 2, i didn't abandon my team, i was the only blue in a fucking ocean of red mates, the butt of jokes for years. That's what i take for granted everyone does surely?

I mean, if your kid was a promosing 100 metres runner and had an accident, that would render them unable to run, you wouldn't put them in care and follow little jimmy next door, as he is a good runner too?
