Looking down on 'glory hunters' is arrogance

Plenty of us have supported the club because of where we lived or family ties and we've supported it through thick and thin, win or lose, Premier League or League 1. We've done the proverbial wet Wednesday night at Stoke and frozen our bollocks off at Middlesbrough.

All of a sudden we're successful and there's all these people who have never done that or given us a second's thought in the past who are "fans". They were probably Chelsea fans in 2005 and Arsenal fans before that. Well we all had to start sometime and if they stick with us through the bad times then they'll have earned their right to respect.

But let's be honest - we despise the muppets from places like Northampton, Leicester, Surrey, Plymouth and other places who have hitched their wagon to the rags and I see no reason to do any different because it's City they've latched on to.

Thanks for that PB. It's nice to know that I don't meet your criteria for being a real fan.......
I only started supporting City in 1965 as a five year old. I was born in Cornwall but lived most of my adult life in Devon. I did not go to York away but I have seen the blues at such esteemed places as Swindon, Bournemouth, Oxford, Torquay etc. I did get to see City at Wembley in 1976 though.
Despite all this, I acknowledge that I was not born in Manchester, so I am rightfully worthy to be despised as a glory hunter.

You're clearly not a gloryhunter. Perhaps I should have added "...who have hitched their wagon to the rags just because they were swuccessful."

You don't need to rant all night about the type of people Rovers fans are. We have our very own "Exhibit A" in front of us - You!

God forbid should your "New Club" end up on the rocks for whatever reason and City all of a sudden found themselves in a Leeds-of-a-few-seasons-back or a Pompey, what ever the fuck will you do then?

Probably look for the next 'up and coming' club when the going gets tough.

Absolutely this but the fool Vinjay just doesn't see it. First sign of tricky waters and he will be off supporting the next team he thinks will be successful.
As Glen said..how could ANYONE comprehend ever changing their team is beyond me. I am glad I was there through all the crappy times because now I can enjoy these times even more.

Vinjay - you are a disgrace to 95% of football fans ...

I don't see it? Coming from someone who's making complete fabrications about why I left. That would be like me calling you a homophobe based on one ignorant comment wouldn't it?

For the last time I left because Rovers fans are a bunch of lying scumbags (I'll use blunt language seems to be how you like it) with zero respect for a man who invested millions into that club. Just last month their "action group" were using Jack Walker's grave as a cheap PR stunt. Sums them up.

I don't take as much pleasure in Rovers predicament as you might think but can't help but feel the last couple of years have been karma in a sense. How can I support them when bitterness runs so deep? You imagine continuing to go for 6 years when you feel nothing but utter contempt for your OWN fans.

Oh and by the way Rovers have been relegated before and I stayed then which just sums up the holes in your argument. Even at the clubs lowest City never went from title challengers (98) to relegation (99) to midtable (00) in the short space of time Rovers did (aside from the late 30's but doubt anybody here remembers that)

Why are you here again?

Do you mind I was born in Leicester and now live in Northampton...
Being a City fan AND living in Northampton, you have my deepest sympathy and respect.

I didn't want to say anything, but it was actually PB who questioned my City credentials all those years ago in that convoy.

I've been bottling it up for too long now...

I am more than happy to provide an extensive list of posters on here that you appear to have failed to sniff out.

There's a couple on this thread for starters....

Not all Blackburn fans are as you have described them.

I work with a couple of them. They hate the current set up as I imagine the majority of Rovers fans do and for you to sterotype them all as scumbags only adds to the opinion of what a lot of people on here think of you. They are fans who are willing to stick by the club no matter how shit the situation is.

Not only did you fuck off your club when the going got tough (I couldn't care less if you have 'experienced' a relegation before, you clearly weren't willing to do it again), you then proceeded to choose a team who was inevtiably going to be a super powerhouse within a few years.

Why not choose Wigan, Bolton, Burnley, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Preston, Accrington or other local teams not so well off and not on the brink of success?

You're no better than any other glory hunter out there that the 'rags' are famous for having in abundance.

Just to add to the above post, in all likelihood Vinjay, you're probably a bit of a **** too.
