Lowest away following.

87/88 Millwall away at the old den. Saturday game 3 o clock kick off, we won 1 - 0 and there was about 50 of us in the away end max.
Not true. I was there and there was a good turnout. Tony Adcock scored. I was at London Bridge after and there was more than 50 of us there alone.

Yeah, as the other guy says, you’re misremembering that one mate. Was loads crammed into the far corner furthest away from the turnstiles. With one little sliding door at the top to keep the natives out. Was the weirdest set up there. I think all the turnstiles for the whole ground were behind one net and you just walked round to which stand you were in.

It was antiquated even then. A big floodlight over us.

Utter garbage went down on the special, which was full, at least 2000 there that day.

Maybe he’s getting mixed up with the two FA Cup replays down there round about the same time? ( Teddy Sheringham did for us ) Although I was at both of those aswell and there wasn’t that low a turnout.

I went to the Millwall away game in 2001 where City fans were banned.

Lived in London at the time and went with a Millwall supporting close mate of mine who was decent enough to get me a ticket.

Sat on my hands and barely spoke for 2 hours.

I'd be surprised if there were more than 10 City fans in the ground

It was nowhere near the lowest but it was pretty sparse at Notts County on the same night as the twin towers. I guess a lot who’d planned on going just didn’t fancy it after what they’d been watching on TV.

Yes Chelsea rioted after losing in the play offs (wasn't it Sunderland?). As a result the Shed and away end terraces were closed, only the two stands running the length of the pitch were open
It was 'Boro. And the stakes were even higher than just promotion - in those days the play-offs involved the 3 teams from the 2nd tier that had finished 3rd, 4th, and 5th and 1 team from the top flight (the team that had finished immediately above the automatic relegation places). Chelsea were that team and had won their semi-final against Blackburn so played 'Boro in the final on a home and away basis. 'Boro won the tie and were promoted, while Chelsea were relegated, and somewhat unexpectedly it kicked off to fuck at the final whistle with Chelsea fans invading the pitch and trying to get to the 'Boro end.

I went to it and the atmosphere was suitable subdued.
It wasn't anywhere near full at the same ground in an LC first leg game a couple of seasons earlier, but I think it's quite a big away end at Notts. We were allocated the side stand for the 2011 Dzeko game.

I can remember fine details from all these games getting mentioned from the 70s and 80s but as soon as anything recent gets mentioned, I’m like… 2011 Dzeko game, what the fuck was that? Old age I guess.

Jesus, that would be the year we won it then and it still didn’t ring any bells until I watched the highlights. Thanks for that.

Although I can name not only the results but all the scorers in the correct order from every game in the ‘81 cup run.

Funny old thing the human brain.
