Lucas Paqueta investigated by FA for alleged betting breaches

If you look in the right dark places on the internet theres some serious shit kicking off about this affair and its deeper than one sacrificial lamb given up to protect a bigger issue at West Ham.
Interesting. Is there a suspicion that the betting-related match issues at that club go much wider than just one player then?

Had a thought about his betting as it appears it was just a one off and not like toney.

Maybe he told people back home that he was joining city. They all lumped on it at the bookies. City pulled out due to the price tag West ham were demanding. They lost the money they bet. Paqueta the gave them a little tip to win the money back.

Probably doing 2+2=5 but it makes sense in my head.

As the match in question was March prior to any serious suggestion he was joining us then I’d say not.

The rumour was that maximum bets were being placed by new accounts on not just his yellow card but other yellow cards ar unrelated clubs around Europe. IE someone connected to multiple players putting very weirdly specific £1000s bets on second half yellow cards.

Personally, I think Foden can do the defensive side fine. Didn’t Pep say last season that he could play left back if needed?
That central role is where I’ve always felt Foden will end up but he’s just had to bide his time while De Bruyne is still here and fit to play.
My greatest concern about Foden playing further back, especially in the middle, would be the inevitable increase in physical contact and the greater likelihood of injury, particularly to his knees. He’s done well to avoid serious injury to date. For me, he is still rather coltish and while he could ultimately play deeper, currently, his gifts are needed higher up the park, so we should be looking for someone else that can come in and compliment what we have.
