The words 'Luke Shaw' & 'Thirty Million Pounds' shouldn't be in the same sentence unless it also includes the words 'isn't worth'.

A very promising player but £30 millions worth ? Not even close for me.

If he's our left back for 10 years+ is he not worth the £3 million per season?

wasn't 34M???

It was £34m in the end, it was on their accounts.

Remind me how that deal ended up looking....?

I'm all for a big investment on a young player if the upside is high and risk low. Rooney is another one who went for crazy money, but paid it back.

Like, if we spent £35m on Pogba, I'd consider it a decent investment. Shaw is very talented, £30m might be a bit OTT because he's a left-back, but I think he's worth a £20m+ investment.

Ricardo rodriguez is far better then shaw and could be snipped up for a third of the price

Depends whether he performs like a world class player. Wayne Bridge is a left back. Would he have been worth £30m and £3mil a season ?

Length of service means little in terms of transfer fee if the quality isn't right. £30mil for Shaw would be far too big a gamble for me.
