Lyon CL QF Post-Match Thread

The second goal shouldn't have counted right? Clipped the Lyon guys foot. Sorry a bit short. In a pub no access to replys

If Foden isnt screaming at pep for a reason why he didnt come on, never mind start, he needs to work out how good he is and what he can do.

This was his stage to shine and hes not even had the chance to

Kevin de Bruyne answered in French:
Question: Did the new system that houhad never played perturbed your team?
Answer: I don't know, maybe the coach, and the players as well. We need to see the match again.

Just remember the greatest manager of all time won this competition 2 time in 25 years It’s a knock out competition and there is little room for error

I agree but don't lengthen the odds further by going with a bizarre line-up/tactics.

It seems to me that Guardiola either overthinks these games or feels that he has to come up with some new tactic to show how smart he is. Either way, it rarely seems to work out for us in the CL. I couldn't believe it when I saw the line-up.

Having said that, it was the story of our season really. Missed chances and poor defending.

Getting rid of pep isnt the answer, but he needs to understand that we shouldnt be making major changes like what we done tonight in games, especially europe.
He got it wrong tonight, and we will always have that problem if we keep starting gundogan and rodri together. Not enough energy, slow, cumbersome. Yes you can get away with it in the premier league if youre playing against a team where youve got 80% possesion and they dont have much counter attacking threat, but playing them against a team we know are good on the counter is absolute suicide.

Pellegrini with an inferior squad lost in the Semifinals 0-1 on aggregate against Real Madrid who ended up winning the tournament. Pep lost for the 4th straight time in Quarterfinals, against fucking Lyon 1-3. Please explain that

Putting all the team/tactics stuff to one side (but not minimising their importance and relevance), I reckon that's the worst of all the VAR decisions we've had in Europe. Everything about it stinks. I've never quite bought into the idea that there's an orchestrated plan around those decisions, but it's increasingly hard to find anything to counter that argument.

Stop making excuses or try to catch fans of other clubs. I love Man City but these mistakes are inexcusable. Pep deserves all the criticism that is coming his way.

It’s the 4th fvcking time since 2016. Enough!
Don't talk me what to do,I read all of your posts as wel!

We've bought shit like Rodri last summer and are lining up an 80m Mangala impersonator.

Do u have confidence the club will get the right players?

I mean we're keeping Gundogan for a start though even if we tried to sell him he'd go missing so we couldn't.
Great points and agree with Mangala V2. Foden and Bernardo need to start with a young Kante behind them.

Yet another game where we had 2 and a half times the number of shots as the opposition's had and lost the game. Must be the 10th time that has happened this season!!
