Madeleine McCann

Then each & every one of them is guilty of child neglect & at best poor parenting .
OK
I could say the same about every parent who smokes in front of their kids every parent who gives their kids fizzy drinks or sweets every parent who had a drink whilst pregnant etc etc etc.
The fact is that it is very very common and the above have put kids at far greater risk statistically than having a child in an unlocked room.

Less of the personal insults hey?

I’m really not digging anything, I’ve followed this case quite a lot and changed my mind on their guilt quite a lot.

If you can be nice we won’t talk.

It seems those more willing to insult are the ones with the same opinion - debate the topic or we’ll get the thread pulled.

That’s fine by me. We won’t talk.

Although this has now gone off on a bit of a tangent, I would argue the average thrower of a stone could not accurately hit a target 77.38 meters away.

Are we talking the average person or the average person likely to throw a stone ;-) ?

Are you genuinely trying to equate leaving your kids in an unlocked apartment in a foreign country to parents giving kids sweets?

The ‘lots of people do it so it’s ok’ theory.

Lots of people use drugs around their kids.

Lots of people are involved in domestic violence around their kids.

Lots of people sexually abuse kids.

All alright this yeah?
Virtually every single one who left their kids alone came to no harm.

Something that seems to continuously get overlooked by the 'it could happen to anyone camp' is that there were so many things they could've done to hugely minimise the risk

Like staying in with their very young children and locking the doors rather than going out on the piss and leaving them alone with the doors open in an unfamiliar place?

Extremely simple and straightforward in my eyes.

Now now! That was a somewhat obtuse question; the de facto interpretation of an 'ordinary man' test holds no account of the particulars of the person in question, unless the standard is a higher subjective-objective one ;)

Not really its probably safer.

One of which was the bar itself having a reservation book on the bar constantly which said the McCann’s has booked it out for the week because their kids were sleeping next door.

That information was accessible to anyone that entered the bar at any time all week.

Another was the fact that there were very little, if any at all, warnings or reports of paedofiles or sex offenders in the area, when in actual fact there were dozens and dozens reported to the police.

I could hit a building from 77.38m away but then again I play cricket (but badly!)

Yeah I've watched the docu boss, that was indeed appalling on behalf of the hotel.
However, it's still almost inconceivable to me as to why they didn't use the night crèche? They were happy to use the day crèche multiple times, it's something I can't wrap my head around

They gambled, and lost, massively.

That’s true but our point is that it would have looked an incredibly safe bet.

Apart from the poor kid, they’re the biggest losers in all this and deserve compassion.

Which many people still aren’t sadly willing to give.

Because they wanted a few scoops and a scran without the kids doing their nuts in.

It’s that simple. Which makes it neglectful.
