However If that child had been either murdered or killed by accident that night, in that room, then the case would have been much easier to solve. The police sniffer dog means nothing. It was a rental holiday room. God knows how many visitors had stayed there or passed through it.

so we have to take them as being innocent, but there's always that underlying nagging doubt about it.

Believe me when I say that I know what you mean, the nagging doubt thing that is. But having read a lot on this case I believe the mccanns are innocent. I may be wrong but I hope I'm not. The parallels with the chamberlain case make me err on the side of caution to some extent.

It is my view that they are definitely guilty... but only guilty of neglect of that poor girl - 99,000 times out of a 100,000 they would have got away with it - but this was the 100,000th time...

Not true. Any child that is lost from any family that we can relate to (even if only on a 'familiarity' basis borne out of 'that could have been us') is going to get attention. Take for example the family of Sarah Payne. I'm pretty sure we'd be still talking about it now if the child hadn't been found. This isn't about 'class' at all, it's about common humanity.

I'm not saying that's totally out of the question but it seems remarkably coincidental that a sniffer dog has been brought in to a crime scene yet has uncovered an entirely different incident.

Think about it.

seems pretty logical to me

1) the sniffer dogs are trained to smell dead bodies

2) they are something ridiculous like 99% accurate

3) they were let loose in a large car park and went mental around the boot of the mccans rental car

although you will no doubt tell me different?

I won't pretend to know the facts around the McCann case like mackenzie does, but I will say that I've had some dealings with the Portuguese authorities personally, and they are beyond fucking useless.
