The people of mid Scotland, of South yorkshire, the people of County Durham, the valleys of South wales, the victims of institutionalised child abuse, the families of the 96, the teenage conscripts blown up on a hospital ship sailing away from a battle zone, victims of chemical weapons she sold to the Middle East etc etc. she may not have been the devil incarnate, she may have done some good but she destroyed enough people to never be considered a great national leader. A great leader for southerners maybe, a great leader for nationalists maybe, a great leader for the wealthy maybe, a great leader for abusers maybe. But she was not a great leaders for Brotain !

I don't need another reason to hate Thatcher, but I've never heard of this one. Care to enlighten?

He's referring to the ARA Belgrano, which was not a hospital ship. It was a belligerent vessel at a time of war and a legitimate target. The fact it was sailing away is irrelevant. The Captain even accepts it was a legitimate act and that he was under orders to attack any British vessel that he encountered.
The left loves to paint Britain as the aggressor in this conflict, it is how they roll. Presumably the exocet missiles launched at British ships miles away from Argentina are ok though, as it was only our servicemen that were killed.

The left doesn't paint The UK as the aggressor in the Falklands war, didn't at the time and doesn't now.

Opinions on the sinking of the Belgrano, or even the bombing of Dresden can differ, but they are questions of tactics, competence and even morality, they don't split along idealogical lines, unless you are a pacifist.

There are trains of thought at the extreme ends of Ideology from the left that all wars are the bosses wars, or from the right that war is a legitimate exercise of power, because the losses are usually drawn from the lower orders and no one gives a fuck about them, but most left or right thinking people don't fall in to either of those catagories.

The right always paints the left as unpatriotic, claiming the Unon flag as their own, from Churchill claiming an Atlee government would bring in its own version of the SS, to Thatcher banning unions at GCHQ, it is a product of their class based hatred (another thing they claim as an exclusively left wing trait) and a combination of their ingrained stupidity and greed.

Winston Churchill?

The public showed there appreciation in the 45 election.

Labour landslide
Which was promptly overturned by the conservatives at the following election.

Wrong....

The 1951 United Kingdom general election was held twenty months after the 1950 general election, which the Labour Party had won with a slim majority of just five seats. Labour called the election for 25 October 1951 hoping to increase their majority.

Labour defeat is significant for several reasons: the party polled almost a quarter of a million votes more than the Conservatives and their National Liberal allies combined, won the most votes that Labour had ever won (and has ever won as of 2014) and won the most votes of any political party in any election in British political history. Despite this, it was the Conservatives who formed the next government with a majority of 16.

Under the first past the post electoral system, Labour votes translated into increased majorities for MPs in safe seats, rather than into gaining new seats.
