Is the guy in the jacket you're on about the one with about 200 badges on his scarf and flat city cap? Still see him about. You've forgot 'the end is nigh' placard guy

I don't know if I'm thinking of the same fellah, but there was a guy who followed City everywhere with a face like Peter Reid, and he too had plenty of badges and also scarves tied to his wrists. I can recall a game at Leeds in the '70s and the Leeds fans were camped behind both goals with the City fans being in a paddock near a corner flag. Anyway, I don't know how he managed it, but this guy found himself amongst the Leeds fans at the end where they were facing up to us, and there was a scuffle involving him whereby he ended up on the running track, but instead of being escorted to the paddock, or even evicted, he kept trying to get back in amongst the Leeds fans!

I saw him at Millwall dressed the same way late 80s,respect......... or complete loon.

Yes he is still going,i spoke to him recently.Now retired he lives in Milton Keynes but is thinking of moving to Spain.I wish the club would somehow honour him before he goes.He said he has followed City everywhere from West Ham to Millwall dressed like that and has never had any bother,so respect to even the knobs recognising a true fan and character and letting them be.

Does anyone remember Bulldog[Plec?] who actually was built and looked like a bulldog,a bit of a fighter in the 1970-80's?He looked about 35-40 then,though i was young so maybe he just looked older because of that,lol.

late sixties early seventies, les tate, george mcguire, mark britner these lads were very handy to have around seen george last season in the family stand always found them good lads, they got into big trouble on the london underground if i can recollect back in mid seventies travelling to west ham? lifelong true blues always have respect for them?

I remember George Maguire too. He arranged his holidays one year to follow City on a pre-season tour, in Holland I think it was. His wife wasn't too happy with that and she said to him "You think more of City than you think of me" and he replied "I think more of United than I think of you", and with that, his marriage ended.

went on lots of pre-season tours with george. got a fews photos . will try and post them on next week. still see george in pub on the "A6 stockport" never the same after he was attacked by " man city fans" yes man city fans..

Vaguely remember Stan the groundsman, my old man used to get our tickets off him sometimes. His daughter Janice worked in the club shop iirc

remember him and about 20 others in the Boothen End at Stokes Victoria ground and running across the pitch back to us in the open end opposite.

I remember him on the train going to Chesterfield away in a league cup tie and his mates all singing,''Bulldog is our leader!'' and him telling them to fuck off,lol!Mad night that,i am just dossing about the streets of Wythenshawe,wondering whether to go to the game and try and get a ticket,when some young lads who were going talked me into it.We got to Piccadilly and the first person i walked up to and asked if they had a spare ticket had one,result!I can still remember the shock on his face as he asked,''How did you know i had a spare ticket??'' like i was mystic Meg,lol!!

Used to go to a pub called the Prospect of Whitby strange pub they smashed the glasses on the floor ???? dont ask me why know idea..

The coach was organized for a spell by Ginger (usually called Ginner because there was another Ginger on the bus).

The Prospect of Whitby was the idea of Eddie McMullan (who was an Irish fireman and a top blue). He knew loads of pubs in London. We usually followed his recomendations.

The Prospect of Whitby was (is?) in Wapping (before Murdoch transformed it) and was always rammed and people either dropped their empty glasses on the floor or dumped them into the Thames because it was next to impossible to get back to the bar. The landlord would retieve the glasses in the river at low tide.

They used to sing lewd rugby songs at the Prospect. Wapping High Street was weird. It was all high warehouses and a narrow street with the Prospect the only attraction.

I went back a few years later and the Prospect had been sanitized and was full of German tourists. There were signs up about no rude songs allowed!
