There used to be a fat guy with glasses and a blond mullet who used to stand near up. No matter how well we were doing, sooner or later something trivial would set him off on a mad, red faced, spit spraying, 5-minute rant of pure rage. And then everyone around him would start cheering

This guy started a rush of the wall at Wigan after the playoff round 1 final whistle. Absolutely no reason for it whatsoever, but it was funny to see him shoving 40 grown men down the terrace. Haven't seen him for a long while.

Mark Bitner has a restaurant near Javea halfway between Benidorm and Valencia he was the Fan on The Board and still had the Jag with Kippax as the reg
I luckily managed to avoid most of the trouble but I do remember his cape and helmet.
I also seem to remember Tiny (at least I think it was the same Tiny as I know he had something to do with either Mercer Celtic or the other team Allison rovers?) after a game at Burnley think it was the '68 6-0?, when he led thousands out of the ground toward the town centre and he was crying saying how proud he was of the lads.
Happy days especially dodging the trouble.

do you have the name of Marks place in spain?? last spoke with him about 3 years ago but lost his phone number..think i remember that bloke tiny at Burnley...lol

For anyone interested I bumped into Mark in Town before the Villa game.
He has sold his business in Spain and is at present in the UK.
But going back over for the Villarreal game.
Told him he was being mention on Bluemoon and he said Blue what.
Told him about the board and he said he would get on, if he remembers.

Unfortunately his career as team mascot didn't last long, I think the match was against Liverpool or Everton and as Butch was running around the perimeter a scouser ran onto the pitch waving a flag. Naturally Butch took exception to this, ran straight at the scouser and flattened him. As usual he talked himself out of any trouble and was ushered back into the Kippax.

Does this ring a bell with anyone?

Funny you should mention this, my dad was going on about something like this not too long ago, but iv heard his old city stories too many times :P

late sixties early seventies, les tate, george mcguire, mark britner these lads were very handy to have around seen george last season in the family stand always found them good lads, they got into big trouble on the london underground if i can recollect back in mid seventies travelling to west ham? lifelong true blues always have respect for them?

I remember George Maguire too. He arranged his holidays one year to follow City on a pre-season tour, in Holland I think it was. His wife wasn't too happy with that and she said to him "You think more of City than you think of me" and he replied "I think more of United than I think of you", and with that, his marriage ended.

Is the guy in the jacket you're on about the one with about 200 badges on his scarf and flat city cap? Still see him about. You've forgot 'the end is nigh' placard guy

I don't know if I'm thinking of the same fellah, but there was a guy who followed City everywhere with a face like Peter Reid, and he too had plenty of badges and also scarves tied to his wrists. I can recall a game at Leeds in the '70s and the Leeds fans were camped behind both goals with the City fans being in a paddock near a corner flag. Anyway, I don't know how he managed it, but this guy found himself amongst the Leeds fans at the end where they were facing up to us, and there was a scuffle involving him whereby he ended up on the running track, but instead of being escorted to the paddock, or even evicted, he kept trying to get back in amongst the Leeds fans!
