A plan that could see the 10-acre Great Ancoats Street eyesore redeveloped into a 1.25m sq ft office scheme, including the potential for a civil service hub, has been signed off by the city council.
Manchester City Council acquired the former Central Retail Park from TH Real Estate for £37m six years ago. Since then, there has been much speculation about the city council’s plans for the site and frustration about a perceived lack of progress.

Some incredible drone images were captured at First Street Manchester earlier this month, showing the concrete pouring for the core at Plot 9a.
The weather made for crystal clear views of the plot with work now well underway. The corner of Number 8 First Street can also be seen in view, along with VITA Student.

Europe’s largest living wall is taking shape at Eden, our netzero in operation workspace in Salford.
Half of the wall’s infrastructure has been installed, with 35% of plants now taking pride of place.
It will include 32 different species, with 40% of plants selected for their ecological properties and 60% selected for their ability to absorb pollutants and carbon dust.
