Strange looking building.
Fair enough. Different strokes for different folks. It wouldn’t look out of place in New York or Chicago.
People don’t criticise the buildings in New York and Chicago.
I think it looks great. A fantastic looking ‘brick’ building added to Manchester’s other fantastic (Victorian) brick buildings.
It’s all about opinions and tastes, Jim.Fair enough. Different strokes for different folks.
By the way; how do you know that they don't criticise the buildings stateside? Not wumming you, serious question.

I agree but I quite like it, at least it's not yet another SH square grey tower.Strange looking building.
You can just see the 1st of the two 52 storey Contour concrete cores popping up on the Skyline at New Jackson. To the right of South tower, which is currently the tallest tower in Manchester. To be over taken by Viadux 2 in a few years time.

The brickwork looks stunning well done those lads up on the platform :)
I guess the lack of windows on that side of the building adds to the "strange-ness", for me. I see the narrow strip of windows up the middle, by the way!I agree but I quite like it, at least it's not yet another SH square grey tower.
Sorry to moan JRB ;-)
Got any of the Island on John Dalton?

The brickwork is very nice, mind.
I'm not being contrary for the sake of it*. You know my feelings re old compared to new buildings.I get your point.
Working on there myself. It's a nice designed building. Nice inside with the dark wood and brass fittingsGot any of the Island on John Dalton?

And when you ask people that don't like glass towers, or people that don't like brick buildings, what they do like, they almost never have an answer. Other than occasionally 'the town hall'.It’s all about opinions and tastes, Jim.
Not aimed at you.
People moan about all the similar looking glass towers going up in Manchester.

It’s impossible to please everyone when it comes to new buildings being built in Manchester.
