Now; THAT is what I like. Near Central Library, I think?
It could be the other side of the town hall extension where the toilets are heading into Albert square?Yep, it's the back of the town hall elevation looking towards St Peter's Sq
Yeah; I'm not a fan of these same-y tower blocks going up, particularly down the bottom end of Deansgate. But hey; it's progress, I guess. To be fair, there is the odd okay-ish one. I think BT have a new building up with a lattice type effect on the outside of the building. Not sure that it's in the city centre, or a little bit "out in the sticks".The tower block city is looking uglier and uglier in my opinion
It's a wonderful building. I hope the restoration is done sympathetically to the original architecture. Any idea when it's meant to be completed (can't see an estimated date in the article)?Jim will like this.

I'm assuming Debenhams won't be moving back in?
;-)
Worst picture every sorry but a few diggers and workers have appeared today and started moving dirt around beneath the arches. Might be nowt... might be starting?

Enabling works are starting imminently. They are moving the storage compound for the convention complex off the Great Bridgewater Street arches and relocating it to the corner of the viaduct on the junction with Watson street. Apparently Great Bridgewater Street is shut from October for removal of the viaduct arches, which will be reinstated after offsite refurbishment, sans the deck over.
Main tower works won’t start until march/April next year, once the BSA gateway submission has been approved
