I will say it again I can't remember too many fans on here after the 13th May last year who did not want Mancini at our club. He then signs a five year contract and again almost to a man and woman on here there is a huge sigh of relief. So what has gone wrong in the last 12 months to change our belief in the manager, wins Charity Shield, qualifies again for CL, looks like we will finish second with a good chance of winning FA cup. The only downside was the European adventure and I would like to know which teams from the premier league could have gotten out of that group. IMO not the time to get rid he deserves at least one more year to see if progress can be made. If our owner decides otherwise then all I hope for is that the manger who replaces Mancini is better qualified and will take us to a level Mancini can't, just as Mancini took us to a higher level than Mark Hughes could never have taken us.

I take your main point but there is a certain desperation about mentioning the Community Shield when extolling Mancini's virtues. It's a pre-season friendly, no more, no less. Mancini himself did the same thing recently and really didn't sound too impressive.

He is 100 percent going to be our next manager and I have been saying it for months on here.

the end of mancini will see a trophy drought unless we get jose, which we wont.

A good manager will win trophies with this squad and our resources, however, just how many and to what degree is what we are all currently debating.

So,for the record,i think youre wrong but only time will prove one of us right.

This is getting pretty funny, all you lot tying yourselves up in angry little knots...

Off to the game now, but just out of interest Dave, would you take Pellegrini over Mancini?

If (when?) this happens I will be delighted, make no bones about that, because I do not think Mancini is the right man to take us forward. As you all know, it's an opinion I have had for a long time.

With regards to pellegrini, I will watch him week in week out and judge him on what he does with our squad and resources. From what I've heard he seems to have the right qualities: leadership and tactical ability.

So, like I do with every city manager, I will make my mind up on him based on what I see with my own two eyes.

But just to be 100% clear, I will be fucking delighted if Mancini is replaced by pellegrini. But if pellegrini fails to get the best from this squad he goes too. That's football.

One of Worsley's gems.

one of citys players is gay

Half an hour 'til my lift. Time's dragging.

To close before I go to the pub and then the match. I'd prefer Frank De Boer personally if we couldn't get Klopp, Jose or Ancelotti.

Come on City!!! (3-1)

I am not desperate for Mancini to stay, I have no say in the matter but even though accepted only a friendly you can bet your bottom dollar it will be on his CV and how many years ago was it we dreamt of playing in Charity Shield. For me Mancini has delivered but at a cost, that cost is set to rise with this summers transfer saga. Man management and tactical nouse may not be 100% but he is a winner. :-)

I'd like to think I'm pretty objective in this discussion so to address your CL point about no Premier league team getting out of the group - We didn't just fail to get out of the group, we failed completely. We didn't manage a single win, and the only match we looked like winning was almost completely against the run of play after being battered by Madrid for most of the match, which they went on to win anyway.

It wasn't a case of the Rags, Chelsea or Arsenal not getting out of the group, I don't think any would have either. It was about a complete systematic failure in Europe on all levels. This has since been compounded by an embarrassing exit to the league cup, and surrendering the league officially far too early, and unofficially even earlier still. You would have a very hard time convincing anyone that we would have done that badly in the CL with Mourinho in charge, for example.

In football a lot can happen in 12 months, but I don't think it's too surprising that those who were willing to stick with him at the end of last season (even more understandable given the small matter of winning the league), are open to alternatives now. Though I'm actually far more concerned with our league exploits than those in Europe.

1 Question ....

We all know Pelligrini's stance on Isco, and he wants Isco to move with him... It looks realistic that Isco will move to us...

BUT What is Pelligrini's stance on Cavani... anyone?

If he came, would he want Cavani or someone else, like he has already reportedly said he wants Isco to move with him.
