At the entrance to COMS, the one near the Merc garage, on the right hand side near the new building there are signs on he perimeter fence I'm think they say Manchester City Developments, I could be wrong though. I saw them while driving past last week.

Close. They read "City Build - Manchester". That's the construction company who built the new office complex and a few other bits around the stadium, Carrington and Platt Lane. I think the name is just a coincidence.

I think City Build are again a club subsidary, but merely just a front who subby the work out to buildrers/developers, but also another City logo on the work being done.

How long does it take to build a stadium? Does it look feasible that construction starts at the end of this season and building open next season? I don't think so, but I don't know much about these things either. I've seen house built in a week so what do I know :)

coms was designed to be easily extended. apparently the roof is only held by a concrete ridge at the top of the walls (the big steel wire things are there because the roof is not screwed down so without them it would just collapse into the fans =S). the maximum it can be extended is to 65 thousand. if we want it bigger than that we will need to build a new stadium =D

No it wasn't For the nth time! Dennis Tueart stated on the radio that he was on the Stadium Committee and they were told that it would be prohibitively expensive to extend as the roof design prohibits easy expansion it's a mono structure. Yes, you are correct that it is supported on the ridge and the wires pre-tensioned stop it falling into the fans This wire structure goes all around the top edge of the roof, it was there even when the North Stand was missing for the games To extend say the N & S stands to three tiers, as you seem to be suggesting, would likely require a new roof all round this certainly couldn't be done very quickly

Picture proof of what the poster above says>

I don't think they are. They've been going a number of years, and are based in Walkden.

How about a `MASSIVE` sky scraper overlooking our `MASSIVE` new 80,000 seater state of the art ground, where we all could live in Blue harmony and pay our rent to Manchester city FC, for an un-MASSIVE ammount of course. Seriously though as well as either extending the ground or building a new one altogether, would`nt it be nice to have a truly in your face high rise development, with sky blue tinted glass naturally. Its gonna be interesting whatever they do, theres a hell of a lot of land to develop around Eastlands.

Trautmann Tower?

Tony Towers?

We should build one of these....

With regards to the OP. I'm working on the development of L.C.C.C. at the moment and I was talking to a foreman of steelcraft today, they are doing the steel construction on site and specialise on stadiums. They did the Emerates stadium, Wembley amongst a few and are also doing the Olympic stadium in London at the moment.... And he told me that they are putting in a quote for expansion work on COM's! He seems to think that we are developing the ground but wasnt aware of when work could start? Not saying this is a go but he was sure that it will happen. Just thought I would pass it on.
P.S. if anyone is interested L.C.C.C. is looking good and it should be fantastic when finished.

There is a chance I could be wrong, it doesnt happen often though ;-)

Wow, If we have all the money in the world then why not have one like the Dallas stadium posted.
Truly amazing.

Please , please can we have one for Christmas (or whatever Winter celebrations our Abu Dabi friends celebrate).
I'll be a very good boy.
