Manchester City - Premier League Champions 2022/23

Were that to be likely I’d probably give up my season ticket after your next 2 titles as would many fans…what’s the point?
What’s the point? Pal I was 39 years old before I saw city win anything but I still went as do millions of football fans. Winning is great but supporting and loving your club is what it is all about.

When the rags were winning it was a weaker league too. The massive amounts of TV money now has made every club stronger so every game is tougher. The rags only had Liverpool, Arsenal, then Chelsea and Leeds and Blackburn for one season each. Their nailed on champions league money created a read disparity in the league, that's when it was ruined.
No doubt Ferguson was a great manager but I’ve always felt that his achievements at Aberdeen were better than those at United. That’s not me being bitter - his longevity at United was impressive and he re-built that team a few times over to go again, but Aberdeen never had access to anything like the same kind of resources.

I think some people are being a little over sensitive about Lineker mentioning the charges. Not mentioning it would have been jumped on by the anti-City press whilst mentioning it in the way he did in a fairly innocuous way and allowing Shearer to say it’s all about the football on the pitch was probably the best option.

There was absolutely no need to mention them, none at all. That subject has been done to death. Also as far as I'm aware the charges stop at 2018 so they have no relevance to our achievements since. If there was a whip round to get some of the old boys to storm that press area and smash the fuckers I'd be right in.

What a magnificent achievement! Pep was able to draw out the hunger and desire from every player after a shaky start.

There’s not a better team in world football, or a better run club, than City.

Long may the reign continue!!!

True. You are a great team, maybe the greatest. No team (likely in the world) is equipped currently to challenge City, so who would bet against you winning again next year? Or the year after? I think maybe that’s where we are now. Pep is a genius and success under him is almost inevitable. Whether that’s good for football is a moot point. Anyway, I hope you win the treble and take that sole accomplishment away from Man Yoo.
I think it would be a good thing for someone else to win it next year. Even as a Blue it wouldn't be a good thing for the league for us to win it for a 4th time in a row. However I genuinely don't remember any stories about ruining football when the Rags were pissing it year after year.

I think your lot just need a wee bit more strength in depth. I still think it wasn't good to go out of Europe as the only focus was the league and maybe that sole focus was a problem.

Lineker is another wanker who needs to fuck off. He's a sanctimonious ****.

You understand why? Because the premier league brand is only attractive if it’s competitive - if you win it every year, people will switch off and no one will bother watching MOTD.

That’s not true, since the start of time all around the world leagues have had periods of dominance. Those that are yellow bellied losers who only watch football to see their clubs win become glory hunters & support the champions. Those with moral fibre stick with their own, win lose or draw, promotion or relegation dreaming of having a team that will win it. Maybe due to blind faith, ambition but evidence shows I’m right & your wrong.

You might be right - as we’ve seen with other great managers, once they leave, it creates a hole

To be honest, I do wonder if Pep thinks should he win the treble, what else is there to achieve! Especially with the FFP allegations, he might think it’s not worth the aggravation?

Who knows? Anyway, enjoy the victory. Tomorrow is another day.
Club World Cup next year if we win CL plus a second CL hopefully are things he might want to achieve. Might think there’s nothing left to prove after that. He has two more full seasons on his contract and I would be amazed if he decided to go early. Hopefully he’ll extend again but might fancy a new challenge in 2025, maybe in Italy or as the Spain national team manager.
