Manchester Students Union

£20 to see us play Juventus in Europe is still ridiculously good value, a lot of us paid £20 to see the reserves lose at West Brom last night.

Main issue - why isn't Chelsea sold out already?

And why all the fuss about a pensioner not wanting to go to a match for £20, even before he knew about the student offer? I'd guess that as a pensioner of his generation, he's got no debts, and I hope will be collecting his pension for a good many years, paid for by the students' tax once they're earning (and they'll not retire at 65). Obviously we don't know his circumstances, but if he's running a car he's not on the poverty line.

It cost me 25p as a junior on the Kippax when I first started going in 1974. I then had a junior season ticket till I was about 23...there weren't much checking in them days. Ticket prices now are a fooking joke and I don't knock anyone for trying to get one on the cheap. If I couldn't afford it now, I'd be off down the Students Union or I would have got one of them £250 seasoncards. We're lucky that we still have those sort of options when you compare us with Utd and the rest.

City were at Salford Uni today & had a stand there advertising £10 Juve & £10 Newcastle tickets.
No student ID required they just wanted the cash all non students & randoms were buying.
Does not seem fair to me as a long standing s/t holder & on cup direct ticket scheme.

A couple of seasons back we needed anyone we could get through the turnstiles just to fill seats.

If we had filled our stadium then the club wouldn't have to look for alternatives like this.

Time to stop blaming students and take a look in the mirror.

Im not against the student buying the tickets & understand the reasons why.
But non students should have to purchase like everybody else & City should have insisted on tighter checks, all it needs is your student ID with your picture on.

Well, the fact that the Juve game has sold under 30k proves the need to attract these "layabout knobheads".

Must be a crime to be educated. It's a shame really.

It's a good idea and a great gesture but most importantly, it's also a way in which we can fill the stadium.
