Mancini Almost Left To Manage Monaco

Mancini, (tongue in cheek) "I talked to 7 clubs (referring to reports of Monaco talk) but prefer it here"
Mancini"I'm very happy with Soriano and the other new people"
Injury news:
Richards 4 weeks, Zabaleta & Garcia available now, Rodwell 2 weeks, Silva still a week!

With Richards and Maicon injured the return of Zaba is a Godsend. Kolo Toure as a starting fullback was filling me with a sense of dread.

you'd be a lunatic if you didn't give £6.4 million p.a. tax free very serious consideration!

I'd be quite tempted too tbf

The financial package is the only reason it might be viable, but I don't see Mancini as being at the point in his managerial career where he's willing to put aside success and trophies for a big cash payment.

Depends upon what his other options were to be honest. Lets for one minute imagine that he really felt he was going to be out of a job in the summer ... there weren't that many options around. The Russian job ? A potential move back to Italy? Or three years in Monaco being backed by another billionaire. I can see the appeal ... even for an ambitious guy like Mancini it'd be tempting if the owner was willing to back you to challenge PSG too ...

I wonder how Mancini would feel if the shoe were on the other foot.

Oh wait - it was in his last job and he threw his toys out of the pram and quit.

I'm not sure I see the point of this post.

If I was in Roberto's shoes at that point in his career, I would likewise have been tempted to listen to potential offers. More surprising is the revelation that RVP reportedly turned down an offer of 300K per week at Eastlands before joining Manure. What a daft bugger.

I'm curious whether he'd be as full of humour had the story been that City were talking to Pep/Mourinho. Particularly when he ostensibly resigned from Inter because he got wind that Moratti was talking to Mourinho. To be honest, as I said earlier, I really wish City's media department would stamp on shit like this. Of course behind the scenes managers, players, are always looking at their options outside of where they are. But this smacks of having a pop at City, making Mancini look a bit small time, and as such we should have come down on it like a ton of bricks.

300k what am interesting number the same as Shrek 2 (the new improved hairy release) apparently gets paid. Hmm
