Not looked at who the hacks are who penned the above articles but I would wager Herbert and Ogden, what a complete and utter pair of rags *****.

Only if you believe this was not leaked by City ;)

Each and every article in media today is on absolutely same line, clearly leaked to them by City itself.

Mancini was fast to present himself as a victim acting dumb that he doesn't know anything and this is response from City.
yep. And it could get messy

Exactly. And guess what?

It just might be true.

this is getting to be a machiavellian soap opera. The club feeling it necessary to "black" RM's reputation is very hard to believe, with so little to gain,if anything. The press, on the other hand..........

While we all kick over the ashes of RM's departure we are missing the huge changes that have occured at the club in the last 48 hours on an unprecedented scale. It seems next season we will have new personnel in every department, virtually a new club run in a new way.
The ex Barca Boys have come in, taken stock and are now presiding over the birth of New City. (horrible expression) . Along with Kaldoun they will be all-powerful, they will need all their experience recruiting the right people and all in time for the new season.
I believe we all thought that we would see the biggest changes on the pitch, with tinkering going on in the background, which most of us are not really arsed about. This is where the "holistic approach" comes in, with every element integrating.
In street speak, they are going to run the club like we all thought it was run.

If that's the tack we're going to take in viewing these articles then I respectfully request no more claptrap about honor and other nonsense when it comes to not going after Mourinho to manage or anything else.

Personally I don't believe the club is doing this. If they are, they're at least as bad as Chelsea. As I said though, I highly doubt it.

I believe they do. Mancini went with "I know nothing" stories and club responded back. He didn't care about club's reputation so the club strikes back to preserve it's image.

It's pretty soft response though, nothing too serious but it's done so it wouldn't be "poor Mancini, evil City".

Basically you're saying the club are cowards then that have to operate in the shadows instead of facing events of their own creation.

Well, you're free to interpretate it however you find it fit, that's not my business.

The club is operating in the line any big, powerful business would do and does on daily basis - protecting it's interests and brand.
I'm not interpreting it. I'm denying it. They want this to quiet down as quickly as possible. They'll have paid Mancini to keep quiet, and they'll want the stories to stop in order to focus forward. Attributing Machiavellian plots using former employees on twitter and such falls on the wrong side of Occam's Razor.
