Eh?

Mancini's been quite happy criticising his players, falling out with senior execs, firing long-term employees and engaging in jobs-for-the-boys with his mates for years.

He lived by the sword, he died by the sword.

so basically being a manager of a football club?

Give it up, you are like a dog with a bone.

You are saying everyone should be loyal to a manager, even if he is being a prick and trying to undermine everyone around him to cover up his fuck ups.
Give over.

So the people with the same opinion as you can detract from Mancini can say what they want, but when I try and substantiate my opinion and support the manager of the football club, that is not Kosher.. ok.

.... she is decent at her job.

She gets told what to say and when to say it, nothing more.

So she's decent at saying what she's told to & when to say it? (She does nothing more than that in your own words).

Well, I have to he honest & say that her job doesn' sound terribly difficult to me. I'm sure I could say what I'm told to & I'm sure I'd do it for less money.

Strange though, I always thought there was more to being the Chief Communications Exec at a large company.

The best paid actors in the world do just that. Funny old world, eh?

So you're saying that our PR department are actually just pretending to do a good job.

Well, I have to say I agree with you completely.

So if Pellegrini got RSC scoring, can we expect Dzeko to now stay and be given service?

I like Dzeko but he was not being used in the correct way. If we did play to his strengths I'd be happy for him to stay.

dzeko would never be used in the correct way or maybe the way i should put it he would never have the service he requires under mancini, the bottom line is have we been sused? i say yes teams know how we play we have no plan b whatsoever, mancini has done very well here i will allways thank him for that but a new manager is now what we need who will play with other options and by that i mean wingers
just imo

Wigan sussed us out. They said "Go down the wings and cross it if you can't get through the front. We know your crap at that." And we had NO response.

Or you could look at it that he has tried to shaft both of them and its backfired. I don't know either way as I don't have the esp powers some on here have.

What I do know is Mancini appeasrs to have this season criticized at least 2 club employees in public. Neither of them having the ability to reply

If someone isn't performing, from the playing staff to the tea lady, then he has the right to criticize in whatever way he feels fit.

Ferguson has criticized everyone at United over the years and not only gotten away with it.

Let me put it this way.. A fucking PR executive isn't going to win us the Premier League next season.. so see ya Vicky love. The manager should be number 1.

I totally agree he can criticize who he wants, only try doing it in private or at a meeting or over a cup of tea. No I don't think I will thanks I will do it in press in public. Classless. As for Vicky not winning it next year well it looks like your beloved won't be either so see ya too

a press conference where she was in attendance

shirley it was her job to keep/ steer the questions on track

Bobby should never have had to face those questions

''You said you don’t understand why the club haven’t stopped the reports?''

''Would you be happy to go to New York without knowing if you will keep your job?''

''But it would be ridiculous to sack you, wouldn’t it?''

''There were the same reports at Inter, weren’t there?''

''Why haven’t you asked anyone at City to stop these stories?''

''These stories don’t help though, do they?''

''Were the players you signed last summer your players or did someone buy them for you''

''Did you sign those players because they were the only ones left?''

''You said Vicky should stop these rumours but she can only do that if someone on the board tells her to?''

''Arsene Wenger hasn’t won a trophy for eight years, David Moyes has never won a trophy. Why are you in this situation?''

''But you can’t blame Vicky?''

''You’re still popular with the fans, do you think that will help you keep your job?''
etc etc

What sort of fucking questions are these to be left unchallenged by the chief communications officer? were these sanctioned in advance? if not why not? why did she not step in and stop the awkward questions as she was stood there listening? What choice did he have but to respond the way he did when he was clearly under attack?!?!

He has done nothing wrong here in my eyes. Can you imagine these questions being allowed at certain other clubs?

The club, or an individual (s), seem to have purposely fed him to the lions.

He does not deserve that.

Brennan and Custis were both writing Mancini was going nowhere just recently.

Mancini has made enemies across every facet of the club over the last 12 months.

And his ridicule of Vicky Kloss is a disgrace, especially in front of her at Wembley to a small press contingent, highly embarrassing.

Firstly, she is a blue.

Secondly, she is decent at her job.

She gets told what to say and when to say it, nothing more.

I might not agree with some of City's policy towards the media, but Mancini has pissed on a lot of chips.
So Kloss was present during the interview?

For what reason then? Does she needs the boards approval to intervene or was it just wrong of her to allow some of the questions that were asked?

Mancini said Vicky should've done more to stop the stories. Even the journos were surprised by this comment and suggested it was the board's job to give her the mandate to quash the stories and they hadn't so Vicky's hands were tired - which is true.

It's also worth noting that Mancini isn't some wet behind the ears kid who doesn't understand the way the press work or the way big political football clubs like City work. He will have known why the stories weren't being squashed. Again he could've asked Ferran or Khaldoun to instruct Vicky to kill the stories.

What is coming to light is that Mancini's relationship was so poor with so many people behind the scenes that communication was almost non existent.

It seems to be reasonably well accepted that Mancini is not a particularly nice guy. Any interviews with ex team mates from his playing days confirm this, they all talk of him being an extremely difficult person. Now I know he isn't at the club to be everyone's best mate but the bottom line is that if he has pissed off large parts of the playing squad and plenty of his colleagues at the club (and potentially the decision makers above him) then he is completely reliant on being successful on the pitch to keep his job. It seems pretty obvious to me from the way the club have handled this that there is little or no goodwill towards Mancini at the club and now performances on the pitch have dipped significantly, he's fucked.

Nasri got through the front. Tevez missed a fucking sitter. Hit the ball to keepers left it's a goal. End of the game we got what we deserved but even though we were shit we could have scored 3 times.

Mancini IS the public face of Manchester City, but he is no a media guru, nor is he really paid to be a media darling.

The PR department's role is to best manage our relationship with the public, and the large part of that is public perception / image of the club. That is their expertise.
Too often I have seen press interviews where there have been weak PR people who've failed to set the acceptable parameters for a press conference.
Of course, the press need to ask probing questions that the club are uncomfortable with, in which case, the club must answer them, or offer a 'no comment', but once that question is dealt with, the club must be firm on 'it's been answered... please move on'. We have failed to do that.

Mancini is not without failings, of course he isn't. But equally, the club isn't without failings either. If we want to have a very 'in the background' type of ownership which has many merits, we must also understand that will put greater pressure on the public face of Mancini.... he needs MORE support.

I believe the lack of team spirit on the pitch this season is a mirror of the lack of team spirit behind the scenes.
It's unlikely to be ALL Mancini's fault.

Nobody is incompetent. Nobody is a total moron. But we make mistakes, and this is one of them. Just like a poor team performance should be rectified by resounding win the next game, Manchester City FC should be seeking to rectify the poor PR performance this week with a resounding performance. Back him, or sack him, but a lack of decision making suggests it's not just Mancini who's unsure of tactics.

I guess she was present to see if Bobby would hang himself.Looks like he did just that. And I am an inner, but that was nothing more than a dead man walking episode, which is only going to end up one way.
