Decent read from Martin Samuel
He reckons we have handled it all badly though, does have a point i guess

Typical ripe and steaming plucked out of my backside journalism.

Samuel is one of the better journo's and usually has good, sensible things to say about us.

The facts remain. We were utter utter dross against wigan. Someone suggested the players looked like they didnt want to win because it would strengthen the case for Mancini staying, and some didnt want that. Regardless weve been below par this season despite finishing second. Mysterious substitutions, inept displays from players who are world class, baffling tactics and public player/manager spats have played into the medias hands and made us and the club look like we're a club in turmoil.
If bobby stays this all needs sorting and any new players need to be brought in asap.
No player or manager is bigger than the club and ill support the club whatever decision is made.

If don't get any confirmation by the club today, surely, we must get it tomorrow that the Norwich game will be his last game.

It's interesting to compare our situation with that of United's, Fergie's retirement leaked, and they went public with it very soon there after.

as ever with Martin Samuel a good read (hate his paper, but not him) - the more thought provoking article is the one that follows it about the effects of ffp
I dont like reading that sentence
It will be impossible to displace the rags when ffp kicks in..

And still the club say nothing. THis whole mess is getting ridiculous. The journos are having a field day at our expense, nearly all have written bobbys epitaph including fucking alan hansen when they are all basically guessing. The club have said nothing which apart from pissing bobby off , and a lot of us, means that the press can basically say what they want. It maybe that we are changing manager, but the stony silence coming from city Is the biggest cause of this whole shitstorm. It saddens me because yet again the club that i have loved for my entire life through thick and thin are being dragged through the mud. This whole episode needs sorting now and i mean today , one way or another city please sort it out.
I fully agree with this , we are the laughing stock of football.

If (and it seems an big unlikely if) this is all bollocks then I hope the club grow some and play legal hardball with the press.

Regardless of who works in the media, city just keep giving the press the copy! Mancini is sacked end of and its time to get our PR into overdrive. Lets not end the year in an anguish !

Our pr dept can only act when briefed.

Exactly, this f**k up has been caused by people far higher up than the PR department.

So SSN is already beginning to bash Pellegrini, even though he is yet to be our next manager. Claiming he couldn't manage to win the liga in Spain even though HE spent over 200mil on players such as Kaka and Ronaldo.

Why do they do this, deliberately ignore facts?

And why the passionate desire to talk down Man City?

Conflict sells, it's the underlying principle of all media be it film, tv, papers

You need a good guy and a bad guy - guess which we are

Get the flipping brief then. Why must they dither because the story is out - Mancini has been fired.

No, no, no. If he's going, let him go today. I never want to see another City manager stood on the touchline knowing that he's been sacked.

What ever happens, the only person to show any profesionalism and courtesy is Bobby. The club are handling this so poorly, we are feeding the media a feast and they are lapping up every painful moment.
Shame on you City I thought these unprofessional days were behind us.

We did the same with Hughes.as I said then and now. Classless.

But that is exactly my point, have they learned nothing from the Hughes debacle ? Clearly not. The way Hughes was sacked gave the media months of opportunity for negative press and now they are doing the same. At least with Hughes we had somebody lined up, you may remember that Francis Lee sacked Horton becasue he believed George Graham would say yes.....we got alan ball. Do they never learn?
