What must be very galling for the cabal is that every time there is a crunch game, and we have had two this week, Mancini comes up smelling of roses.

With the very public display of affection by the fans for the manager it would take some cojones for Txiki and Ferran to sack him. Don't think they will as they seem to understand that last summer was a missed opportunity. Noises suggest we will bring in 4 players better than what we have.

Sadly for the usual suspects they will have to wait another year. Sadly for the rest of us they will be posting the usual mixture of wishful thinking, innuendo and pseudo knowledge gained from well placed individuals within the club.
I know what you are saying but I don't believe the fan's affection will come into any reckoning at all. It will be a simple decision about Mancini, his performance in their eyes and who (if anyone they believe is better) is available.

If it was up to me, he would be getting at least one more season. However it is not and we should not under estimate the chaps in charge having the strength and bollocks to make whatever changes they see as being in the best interests of the club.

Forza Bob.

Of course you are quite correct. It doesn't matter one whit what you, I or any fan anywhere believes. It'll all be down to the Sheikh, with consultation with al-Mubarak, Soriano and Txiki (now watch for some idiot to reply with 'how do you know how the club functions?')

I'm sure I heard 33000 blues singing Mancini woahhhh Mancini woahhh yesterday.

Glad the majority are still 100% behind our boss.

Changing mananger IMO would be fucking suicide at this point in time. Continuity is the key.
One more season to break into knock out stages in Champs league.

You hear it more or less every home game. He has the support of the majority IMO

He only needs the support of one individual - Sheikh Mansour. Either he will continue to have it, or he won't.

I think it seems like more hate him because they shout louder lol and you are right of course but its good to hear at matches.

What the fans want won't be the decisive factor but it will be considered.

Been a good week for RM, in the eyes of the supporters and the decision makers I suspect. Was 50/50 whether he would be here next year or not, now I'd be surprised to see a change made.

I'm an 'outer' as you all know, but I think it's great that the fans, by and large, offer full support to the manager and players at the matches.

Interesting quotes from FdB...

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/manchester-city-frank-de-boer-1830281?

Ajax boss Frank de Boer last night admitted that he wants to succeed Roberto Mancini at Manchester City – but not this summer.

De Boer is on his way to third Dutch league title in as many seasons and his plans could now mean Manchester City keep hold of Mancini this summer as they wait for the Dutchman to become available.

De Boer said: “Manchester City is something I want to do, yes! But it is difficult for me to move my family abroad at the moment. I have to consider others, not just myself.”

Ajax director Marc Overmars said: “Am I worried? Not for losing Frank now, but City will be a big competitor for his signature in the near future.”

And the Blues’ director Txiki Beguiristain is said to be a big fan of De Boer’s coaching style and Cruyff football vision which he has brought to Ajax, who dumped Manchester City out of the Champions League earlier this season.

The Mirror could have saved a few trees instead of printing this junk. The 'report' says he wants the City job, but if asked, no doubt he would say he wants the Rag job, the Spuds job, the Gooners job and the Chelski job ... if offered. That's all. It's an opinion on the speculation of where is future might lie, not a comment on a job that has actually been offered. As for Tricky, he may well be a fan of De Boer as he is personally acquainted with him, but the same fanaticism could be shown towards Guardiola or almost anyone else who has Barca connections. It's a non-story, existing for nothing other than selling more copies of this junk paper. When it becomes hard news, then I will be prepared to accept it. Until then, I'll just eat my chips out of this rag.

I can think of one or two other uses for the Mirror, as well...

Re: Robert "the genius" Mancini

Although I do sit in the Mancini out camp. I'd like to say he more or less got things right yesterday. The pace & tempo we played at for the majority of the game was excellent.

Some of the decision by the players in the final 3rd nearly cost us. We should have been out of sight.

Lets not forget we were playing a bloody good side and always expected them to come back an put pressure on us.

For me all the players and staff did what they needed to do to get us over the line.

Well done.

As for you guys telling certain posters to stay out of this thread as it's a Bobby Love in - my suggestion is stay out of the Mancini out Thread as it's not a Mancini Love fest - Can't have it both ways

Lets look forward to the final CTID

Promised myself I wouldn't debate in here so I won't.

All I will say is Martinez has got Wigan into the final.
Your second sentence is somewhat in conflict with your first.

What point am I debating? I need a point to discuss on to debate. I merely stated a fact that the other Roberto has guided Wigan to a final.
The capital city of Albania is Tirana.

Excellent post - agree with everything written here. Of course, our shadowy 'twelfth man' aka Chris Foy, proved to be quite influential, too. After years of seeing him screw us, it was wonderful indeed to get a few gifts from him. Sorry, Roman...(ha ha ha!).
