Jesus our away form is frightening at the moment.

But that's the usual negativity of City fans, who's to say that will continue ?
There are mitigating circumstances, we've played the rags, arsenal and chelsea away in that recent run. I would suggest that Chelsea were probably 18th in the form guide at one point and now their form has returned they could still have a say in the title.

In that period we have had crucial injuries to De Jong and Johnson (they are starting to come back) compounded by the fact we have had to play a shed load of games every three days and inevitably suffered from tiredness. I think the fact we have come through that period still in 4th stands us in good stead. I had predicted Spurs would be above us at this point.

With a two week break to Sunderland and less games I'm certain you will see our form pick back up.

Yeah, you tell 'em.

"In" by the way

No one knows what he was targetted with expect Mancini and the board.
But we can make an intelligent guess. We know that Hughes' target was changed from "Top 6" to "70 points" due to the higher level of investment than anticipated in the team. Therefore It's probably safe to assume that Mancini has at least the same target but possibly something a little bit more strectching.

It may be a few points more, a caveat that we have to be within 3 points of third or less than 8 or 9 points off the top or even involve cup targets (e.g. 2 semi's).

We know that Mancini's target last season was 4th+
We've spend a fortune since then and he's imposed himself on the club
I believe his target was higher than 4th, a point a lot seem to overlook.

And with the squad we have I believe that that was correct.

Targets targets targets. Looks like we'll live and die by these now because of the Hughes trajectory bollocks. I just wish Cook said 'we've sacked him because he's shit'!

Mancini in please. Next year is the year.

Mancini in for me

BUT if we had a realistic chance of getting Jose with a commit to a 5 year plan then I'd be all over it...

How we get that commitment from Jose, maybe a sliding scale of reward for him

1st Year Contract £3M
2nd year Contract £5M
3rd year Contract £7M
4th year Contract £9M
5th year Contract £10M

£3M bonus for each league title, £1M for each Cup and £5M for a Champions league???

I also think the 'trajectory' was just a quickly concocted excuse. The board have access to the full picture of what's going on in the club, off the pitch as well as on it. They'll have known his ideas and plans for the team and how he was intending to improve our play, they'll also have known who his January targets were, I suspect these and other factors will have had more sway than any purely points based target.

I'll make a judgement after his first full season in charge.

It's the same old crap, though. Out of the Carling Cup because he played a weakened team, out of Europe against the first good side we faced and we finally face strong opposition in the FA Cup soon. Roll on Tottenham at home to make it complete!

Top 4 or nothing for 2010/11.

Mancini out
Cook out
Pay off bellers, Robinho, Adebayor, Barry, Kolo, Bridge, Caciedo, Jo........................and start a fresh.

Question - if he finishes this season with less points than last would you still want him next season?

I am not really arsed about points or positions as such when it comes to Mancini still being here next season although I accept if we finish 5th he will be gone. Not that I want him too but he will be.

I am looking at a much bigger picture than how many points we'll earn. I take into consideration that it is Mancini's first full season, we have plenty of new players, we've played a lot of games, it's on the back of a world cup, we've had lots of injuries and suspensions etc. The way I treated Hughes was that we were never in a million years going to win the league under him and that is the reason I wanted him gone. With Mancini progress is frustratingly slow at times and he does make a rod for his own back with some of his decisions but what I see is a man who knows exactly what he is doing and exactly what he wants to do in the future. He's made mistakes, plenty of them in fact and plenty more than I ever thought he would but I'm putting that down to a number of factors. Because he is fairly new to the league I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt on the players he has loaned out during a grueling season and I hope next season he will take note.

We can talk about a host of things until we're blue in the face but the one big question, and ultimately the only question, is can we win the league in the next two seasons with Mancini? My answer is a resounding yes!

Succinct but not far from my take.
