Former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini says he is happy to see his old club reaping the rewards of his time in charge as they battle it out for trophies on four fronts.

The current Galatasaray manager says he is satisfied with the job he did at Etihad Stadium and the only reason they did not win the title in his final season was the fact Manchester United signed Robin van Persie.

Mancini plays down rumours of dressing room problems in his time at the club and says City's football is no more exciting under new boss Manuel Pellegrini than it was under him.

He is part of our history. He moved us forward immensely. As others have said he brought in Yaya, Silva and Kun. They wouldn't have come to City if Hughes was in charge.

Other players improved under him as well and especially Zabs.

He won us the FA Cup, the Premiership and a Charity Shield.

He was the mastermind behind the 'sick swan' - who will ever forget those two days against QPR and the 'sick swan' ?

Mancini will be in all of our thoughts for the rest of our lives.

As others have said, maybe it was time for him to move over and let some fresh ideas take shape. Maybe Pellegrini will take us to the next level. But, we won't forget Mancio anymore than we will forget Joe Mercer and Big Malcolm.

It is unacceptable excuse IMO specially when he was given equal budget to United last summer.

Mancini won the title by playing his defensive football. Last season opponent play defending football to the champion so that Mancini defensive football struggle. It is time to change whether you like it or not, nobody can deny his defensive football give us the title.
Pelli's attacking football is more entertain will make the massive success to the club also.

Regarding Kompany, he had toe surgery and not played at beginning of 2008 season. Middle of 2008 season Hughes signed De Jong to replace Kompany as defensive midfield and Berry in 2009 season. Kompany was benched more than one year until end of 2009 Mancini employed him again in his zonal marking system as center back. From that time we are rock solid and win two trophies.
