Well; if that was the case it wouldn't be the current City team, would it (unless I'm missing something or have been Clarkied)?wayne71 said:The current team would not win the league if it contained Mancinis City team.

Which players in the current team would you describe as 'ordinary'?
I'd say that our strongest starting eleven is possibly the best team the Premiership has ever seen.
I doubt we have room for 'ordinary' players anymore.

But now he defends better.Skashion said:I strongly suspect it means Kolarov, but Kolarov's attacking stats are exactly the same as they've been in the previous two seasons. Some people are seeing a Miracle of Kolarov that facts do not substantiate.nijinsky's fetlocks said:Which players in the current team would you describe as 'ordinary'?

Are you honestly saying you don't think he has improved?

Better defensively but just as good going forward.
I'm a big fan of Mancini but i don't know about that. Negrado is one hell of a player and for the team does far more than either Balo or Tevez ever did.
Tevez? He's one of the best players I've seen in a blue shirt. Tho we were without him for much of the PL-winning season anyway.
We scored some brilliant team goals and at this point in the season (or at least a couple of weeks ago when I saw the stat) had scored just as many in the PL. I remember our play being praised at the time and even being compared to Barca, who themselves were in their pomp. Obviously we weren't as good as Barca then, neither is our current team. but the point is that I don't see a big difference in terms of attacking threat and 'positive/negative' football back then to now.

Yeah, some people seem to forget how well we played under Mancini

I hope you didn't mean my post, because I was comparing Pellegrini's abilities, not Mancini's.
They also both spoke unintelligible English.Skashion said:I don't see anything remotely odd in comparing Mancini to Shankly in the sense that Shankly laid the foundation stones for two decades of success and hopefully Mancini did. It's a good, and hopefully accurate, analogy.
