Right I'm going out on a limb. I'm not having him sadly. Not good enough for the level we want to be at. Doesn't beat his man enough, doesn't contribute consistently in a game and should never start for me. An impact player off the bench at best.

I reckon that he'll eventually move on because he wants more games, and once he gets regular starts under a manager that rates him, we'll see the real Adam Johnson. Fantastic young player imo.

A very similar argument was used countless times about Stevie Ireland.

Johnson is decent, but he's never going to be great. I honestly think he's on the same level as Downing.

And Adebayor and Bellamy ;). I appreciate he's not flavour of the month on here, but I rate the lad very highly.

That's more than a little harsh. Johnson's improved considerably this season. He's much more capable of playing off the touchline and his passing and one touch play has been excellent. His goal scoring goes without saying. I don't think Downing has a single goal or assist, granted AJ's in a much better team.

AJ can and will get better. I actually thought he was much better than Nasri yesterday, who will also get better.

I thought he was a constant threat to Sunderland yesterday and a bit surprised to read all the criticism

I hope you're right about Adam, but I fear you're not. I like the lad, I really do, and at times he looks as though he could be very good, but all too often....

I hope I'm wrong but a bit like Ireland who clearly has talent when he feels like it, he flatters to deceive far too often. I would keep hold for now but I think we will need someone better soon.

Not good enough, sent him out on loan.
He's like the Invisible Man when he starts, pack him off to Cardiff for a while.

Have to echo what everyone else has said. When he first arrived at City he top draw but he just seems to have fizzled out. Personally I don't rate him half as much as our fans/pundits rate him. He rarely has the confidence to take on a man, his delivery on the whole is disappointing and frankly he's too predictable...always cuts inside on his left which is a bit strange considering he's supposed to be two-footed.

I hope he realises his performances of late haven't been good enough to justify him a starting place in our side, the odd goal shouldn't salvage him. He's got no reason to moan if he is left out and has to improve TBH.

I don't give any blame to AJ yesterday, he may not have played well but that was down to a number of factors , none of which were his fault. Whenever he got the ball , their left winger and full back doubled up on him so he couldn't run at them or contribute anything from the wing. Then when he was open and had the chance to run at people , he NEVER gets given the ball. We are a team that play intricate football and because of that, we play sooo narrow. AJ is there to give us width and to give us a different dimension to our game , but if you don't passs to him , it isn't worth him being on the pitch
