there isnt a limit to the number of players that could go on the tour so its not asif he is taking someone elses "spot"

Pretty much. Mancini jr is there to fill in when others such as Mario or Silva can't make the team for whatever reason. Suaraz would have probably got the spot but for some paperwork issue (I could be wrong on this).

Still it gives people something to woman about and if we are reducing to bitching about this sort of crap then we are in pretty good shape

Well, people who watch some EDS games already know this. Even at that level you always get the impression he is taking a spot that could be better used. He couldn't hack it at Bologna so that says it all about his level. Mancini's other son, Filippo, who was with us on loan in 2008, is playing in the fourth tier of Italian football now.
