Good player and great talent. However, something is missing (attitude I suspect) and Capello must have seen this when he had him in the pre-world cup squad. You can say what you like about the England boss but he sure as hell is a shrewd guy and so is Mancini.

As far as the binge drinking is concerned this is completely alien to continental players and managers. How many of our great talents have been wrecked by booze (Best, Gazza, Shrek no doubt etc etc). I doubt Messi and Iniesta go off on benders with a load of students! Mancini sees this as unprofessional behaviour and correctly wants to stamp this out. He is probably trying to make an example of AJ and it will most likely benefit the lad in the long term.

Dont disagree that his head may get turned by the press etc and club England, and support Mancini if he believes that he needs to be taught to tow the line a bit BUT he is better than Milner and so its hard to see him sat on the bench while the chicken with no head starts.

Mancini is spot on with what he is saying/doing with Johnson. He knows exactly what he's doing, the thing that really pisses me off with a lot of fans on here is they think they know more than him and they think he's some clueless guy who's never seen football before, this is a guy who has won numerous trophys as a manager and a player with a top team, he knows what this is all about and knows how to deal with everything!

I think a lot of posters on here have 'Adam Johnson Syndrome' as well!

I agree completely with Roberto on this one, he just doesn't contribute enough to the team besides wondering how he can make himself look good imo. I like him a lot, but imo Milner should be starting above him atm as he makes assists, nearly scored that one against Blackpool, defends and gives 100%. He isn't playing that well granted, but neither Johno or SWP provide that defensive aspect well enough as well as getting forward.

Can't really make my mind up what I think about this one. Clearly something is happening that Mancini thinks needs addressing and I trust him on that. Not sure why he thinks it is helpful to do it in public though. Personally, I'd rather see AJ starting out wide than Milner, it's less of an issue when Balotelli is available but Milner looks to be struggling in that position to me.

Milner has more assists. Maybe if AJ had 4 crosses, or had passed the ball instead of trying to dribble around defenders only to lose possession :/

Hardly noticed him on the pitch when he came on vs Manure. I'll go with Mancini on this one until he's more consistent, which will come with age.

Would anyone really rather watch Milner than Johnson? Technically Johnson is superior. Hes quicker and trickier. He runs at and past defenders (Milner doesnt) and he is always a threat. I dont care he doesnt defend neither does Ronaldo or Messi. He is the type of player I want to watch play, hes a match winner. Whats not to like about him. Surely he deserves a start today Mancini is a manager I like and support but I think his point has been made. I cant remember Johnson playing poorly in a prem game hes started this year, surely he lost his place on off the field issues, but a second chance is overdue isnt it?
