That press conference was the essence of a manager under pressure. Results in the CL aside, the pressure he has brought upon himself.

Once again Roberto - I could care fucking less how many "situations" you have each year to move clubs. You shouldn't have answered Friday's question so glibly. Having a go at a journalist for asking you to clarify the comments you volunteered is daft. In future just shut up and do your job and tell the press to fuck off when they ask you a loaded question.

Don't know what would have been the best way for him to answer it tbh, but what is clear, is the answer he did give, wasn't the best. It comes across to me as almost a little arrogant...'yes i did have all these clubs wanting me...'. But as you, and others have said, this is where we need PR to brief him and others on what to say and what not to say.

What I have always said about Mancini though, and it remains his biggest downfall is his emotion. It's a fine line, as his emotion can be used as a strength. But in interviews the press can jump all over it. He comes out and says things in the heat of the moment that he then later goes back on: Tevez and Balotelli not playing again being key ones. I can't remember what he exactly said about Balotelli after the Arsenal game, but it was something along those lines. And perhaps if it was down to him Tevez would have never played again, but still, the point remains, he needs to be a little cooler in interviews from time to time, particularly post match interviews- this is when he is at his worst- Hart after Madrid is another example.

Something isn't right with Mancini though- I'm not a body language expert, but the way he just came out before the second half and sat on his own at west ham was a bit odd. I know he has done this before, but I didn't like it then, and don't really like it now. He doesn't seem happy/ comfortable, which links in with what Tolmie is saying.

Last thing- not reliable at all, but a regular taxi driver of my dad took us to the train station today. He is also Taxi driver for Yaya- reckons he has been pretty miserable ever since Silva has signed a new contract. I would lean toward the argument that his lesser performances are due to the fact he is obviously carrying an injury, but if anyone wants to read more into it, there is something I heard....doesn't like not being Mr No.1

The old taxi driver itk shit

Generally thats followed by 'who's a Blue and has no reason to lie'

So maybe it is true - maybe Yaya does have a regular driver who picks him up from the tram station or the local after darts and dominoes every Monday.

Would be interesting to see a list of 'my mates who's a taxi driver/works at the club/airport' etc stories. Must be some belters knocking about.

Just watched the press conference, fair play to Mancini, but I think he opened a can of worms for himself on Friday when he stated 7 or 8 clubs contacted him in the Summer - he should of just gone along with the Monaco things if he was going to reply to it all, sometimes Mancini is his own worst enemy with some of the comments he makes to the press either after games or in press conferences!

Sounds like he his lost his rag because he's been asked about the "six or seven clubs" quote from last week's press conference. Maybe he shouldn't have given the press the quote in the first place.

Yeah...it's all Roberto's fault isn't it Billy

-- Mon Nov 05, 2012 8:53 pm --

What should he have done then? What the fuck does it matter who he spoke to last season? He's there to answer questions about Ajax and the CL, not to be harassed about something fucking trivial.

It's not rocket science. He could've last week "i'm not talking about paper speculation from last season. we're here to talk about west ham." he didn't, he tried to be clever, and now he's complaining that he's still being asked about it. If you spin this as a positive move from Roberto then you're just wrong.

Go and bang your anti bobby drum elsewhere. It's getting predictable

Mancini can't stop the press from asking questions.

He can stop giving goading answers though.

Not all Mancini's fault at all, but he could have prevented this, he chose not to last week.

Who's he picking battles with?

Bobby is seemingly on a death wish, rubbing people inside and outside the club the wrong way.

He knows he is in strong position because of his new contract and doesn't give a fuck.

Mancini has dealt on a daily basis with the Italian media for 25 years, the British pack pales in comparison.

He is a very clever guy and having observed similar scenarios play out, elsewhere, the manager is trying to reassert his authority for a reason, which can be dangerous.

For someone who's meant to be clever, he comes across as pretty naive at the moment. Pressure from all angles and Friday's quotes have fed the monster. He should have kept his council and he didn't. Now he's complaining because he has to clarify the comments.

We really still haven't learned how to behave like a big club.

Same can be said about the fans.......
