mancini on sky sport

Not read the whole thread but the part that strikes me with all this is that Bob has strived for more power at City, back to when Cook was still here and all the "power battles" going on internally.

Now, suddenly, he has in effect less power than ever with the appointments of Soriano and Burgerstain - he does though have the luxury of a nice, fat, new 5 year contract in his back pocket.

In summary, I get the feeling there is a battle on behind the scenes - forget the media - and Bob wants a few assurances as he's never struck me as being someone who will like being told what to do.

Difference this time is that I would hazard a guess that he's unlikely to win this particular battle.

If Arsene Wenger or Ferguson or any other manager in the league for that matter had been asked that question in response to that story I daresay not one of them would have answered as glibly as Mancini did. I'm not sure why this is such a difficult concept to grasp and why my feeling this way is somehow proof positive of some imagined agenda I have against Mancini. I too like your posts but I'm really fucking sick to the back teeth of not being allowed to give a rational and considered opinion without being pilloried for it.

Mancini has made an arse of himself today by reacting in the way he did. No doubt there will now be more stories about the pressure he's feeling. All because he needed the world to know how many "situations" he gets offered each year. You're going to find a lot more people agree with me than don't. Bluemoon isn't a barometer for anything when it comes to Mancini.

In your opinion of course. Your opinion is NOT shared by most fans.....All opinions are welcome as long as you understand that you are not revealing any facts...just opinions. Trouble is, you seem to think you are always right and don't like being challenged.

Of course I'm only stating an opinion. It goes without saying most of the time although there are times where we'll all say it. I don't mind having my opinion challenged either as long as it's at least done with a bit of good humour and a bit of common sense. If you're just going to spout "you're anti mancini you've got an agenda" then I'll probably reply in kind.

I do think he made an arse of himself today. I'm not sure what all those saying he won some battle with the media think he actually achieved other than getting himself a few more headlines. Reading this thread has honestly been a laugh a minute. If an alien were to come down and not know who the "media" were they could be forgiven for thinking it's an organisation of mass baby killers. One journalist asked a totally expected question after Mancini flung that line of questioning wide open in Friday's press conference. If he'd have laughed it off like he did Friday's question, this thread wouldn't exist. He did the one thing guaranteed to cause headlines. Lose his temper and go instantly on the defensive about his record of trophies and how for "fifteen years nothing" before he came along.

Sorry but for a guy who's meant to be cool as a cucumber he was anything but today. In my opinion of course ... ;)

But that's the whole point. I for one, am glad he didn't laugh it off. I am GLAD he gave the journalist an ear bashing because he was disrespecting our club, players and manager. Mancini chose to attack back.....This seems to have caused you some embarrassment. I think it was time to point out that he always answers questions honestly and politely but on this occasion the journo had crossed the line and was politely told to f*** off.

Just catching up here. A minor thing, but not having seen the conference, has anyone identified who the journo was who asked "the question"?

Mancini couldn't care less about what the press thinks, this goes a lot deeper.

He feels he is being left hung out to dry and getting little support from the people that do matter.

Bobby is picking battles with the wrong people and most worringly, he is actively do so.
TH, apologies for bringing this up later into the thread but what do you base this statement on, is it factual or what you believe to be happening?

They way you put it seems to factually infer that Mancini is not getting support from the board or the Sheikh.

I've noted that you have put a few of these across recently (not too sure in the past) and I'm wondering if you have some sort of inside information or are using your status to muddy the waters?

Who fed this story to the scum press. If it came from within then there may be a game being played.
I suspect that Roberto has upset a lot of people on the way and it could have come from anywhere.
All I know is that the Rag press will not let this go now, and unless our PR section get tough for a change it will cause some disruption. That may be an understatement.

Why would the chairman or the Sheik tell the press that Mancini was looking for another job last season.I do think Mancini looks a troubled man though players like Balotelli arent helping him.

Clearly a man in control.
Hilarious to see the usual agenda driven BM dickheads desperately trying to use it to criticise him..!

Fuck the press, what have they ever done for us apart from constantly belittle and laugh at us over the years and i'm going as far back as the the 60's and Mercer's success which always got second billing to the rags to the present day where as Champions of England they show us no respect at all.

On the other hand Mancini has brought us 3 trophies so far and a day I never ever thought I would experience and have played it over and over and fucking over again. Something the press can never give us or take away from us.

Its only my opinion but I can't fathom how any City supporter would give a flying fuck for that c***ts constant baiting today and he got everything he deserved. The club missed the opportunity to do something the second after Mancini's first disgraceful press conference and it should never have been allowed carry on for this long. It really is no surprise Bobby finally blew a gasket. Forza Mancini and fuck the press.

I tend to think that way too.

city encourage this, if they didnt vicky would not be in the position she is in, if city were the tail the dog would be wagging, if anyone thinks bobby is cracking they need to take a look at themselves, you have to remember guys that journalists are generally considered cowards, they are frightened to death of the top media men and have to fall in line, or a certain figure head and his captains of industry might just take their toys away, gutless is the word i am looking for, they want bobby out, i wonder why? their again they want ballo out as well? oh if he played the dark side what a breath of fresh air he would be?
