Yeah yeah yeah. Damocles. It's been 12 months of me being told I'm being knee jerk. With respect - I can't stand the guy. Actively despise him. I truly believe he's a garbage manager. I'm sure you can patronize the fuck out of me with lots of long winded prose about his abilities. Won't change my opinion. You're backing a loser, and time will prove me right. Until then the floor is yours....

the guy is not my cup of tea but this is way OTT, he is a clever bloke and knows what he wants, the sad bit is he's trying to change players that will not get his over complicated tactics. it obviously worked in italy but has no chance here. he or we will have to change.

I was going to start another thread about Mancini, and tonights watershed moment, but this'll do. For me, it came in the 51st minute from a Liverpool corner. I counted 7 City players and Dirk Kuyt in the 6 yard box, yet Kuyt won a free header with not a blue near him. A free fucking header.

Its one of the oldest cliches in the book, but you need a manager who the players will run through a brick wall for if you are to achieve success. Then to replicate that success which is exactly what we are wanting to do, they need to continue to run through them season after season. This lot wont run through wet fucking paper for Mancini, not on that insipid showing.

We might win the semi on Saturday, but the damage has been done in my eyes, and I've argued with many a blue about 'give him time' etc, etc. I hoped to see us come out in the second half with a bit of character, fight, bottle, whatever you want to call it. Not only didnt we come out with any intention of getting back into the game, but it looks like our manager has told them to treat the second half like a training match and keep the score down. Come back from a deficit? Cant see it from this lot can you?

Not sure if he hasnt got a grip of English football yet, but that simply isnt fucking good enough and it never will be for me. If we do manage to squeak into CL footy next season, this cant be the fella at the helm, can we trust him to get a team 'up for it' when it really matters?

Guess we'll find out Saturday.

I wonder how popular Mancini is with the players. They looked completely disinterested, even Kompany wasn't his usual self. In the second half they gave up, and just went through the motions. There is no fight in this team. A stark contrast to Liverpool, where the players looked like they would run through brick walls for Dalglish, they clearly have a lot of respect for him. I understand how important the cup is, but the League is always bigger priority, finishing 4th with nothing is more important than 5th and one trophy. No De Jong, and Silva starting harmed us a lot.

But I agree - he's just not good enough. Tonight showed how tactically clueless he is in the Prem. Changes a winning team, leaves out Nige who is vital in a game like Liverpool away.

Liverpool had an 18 year old fullback making his debut. Any decent manager would have put Johnson up against him, yet Mancini leaves him on the other side!

Brings Millner off instead of Slow Mo Barry. Millner was clearly pissed off and unhappy - and he's not normally like that. So that's another disgruntled player to add to the growing list under the great Mancini.

We looked like a bunch of strangers tonight - certainly not a team. Same slooow, slooow, sloooower tempo we've seen all season and been complaining about because you can't play like that in the Prem and win things.

This was Mancini's Waterloo. I fear for the rest of the season now, especially with Tevez out. Dzeko and Barmytelli aren't good enough to score enough goals to get us top 4.

This is the beginning of the end for Mancini...

Hate to say it...but think you are right. Mancini is not the man to lead us to the promised land. Tactically, he`s gash.

Good post. The sad thing is I think the owners will stick with Mancini:(

He is not good enough. Even if we get 4th I think we will be shit in the CL. I mean Moratti sacked him sy Inter because of his poor showings in the CL. Many of my Inter fans mates were saying how they didn't rate him, and he only won Serie A because of the match fixing scandal where all the teams lost their best players or had points deducted meaning Inter basically had no real challengers.

Like you said about Dalglish, you can see how much the players want to play for him. Can't say the same about Mancini.

Have we ever won a game under Mancini after being a goal or two down?

Didsbury Dave, Jim Tolmie's, me and a few others got lambasted for this six months ago. The logical people out there are now seeing we are right. They are not lambasting us any more.

It gives me no pleasure in being right here. All I want is MCFC to be successful. It won't happen with knob head in charge. Now, can we start to see the light up top, get this fucker out and move on please, because if you don't see the light, we are going to win fuck all in my lifetime. PLEASE listen to me. PLEASE! I am lietrally begging you! :(

No, finishing in a Champions League spot is far more important in the long term, for the financial fair play, and in attracting the elite players, and keeping the ones we have. Forget what the Rags say, and there 35 year obsession, the league is the ultimate priority, anything else is a bonus. Between 4th, and nothing, and 5th with the FA Cup, its 4th anyday, don't even have to think about it.

I just wish I knew who is worthy of managing us. I'd be tempted to get in Big Sam for the short term given that he's available. Anyone who can bring a bit of simplicity to our game. We are crap because everything is too complicated. If we did a few simples things well with the players we have we'd be great to watch. I have waited a lifetime for a cup and I'm willing to wait a few more years if it means its won proper - that means not be fannying about Mancini style. We are worst to watch than under Pearce. I don't blame the players, most are trierscand the rest are utterly confused IMO. Sooner Mancini goes the better.

Sam Allardyce, Martin O'Neill, take your pick, either of them would have a better understanding of how to manage a team in the Premiership than Roberto.
He has blundered right from the very beginning in his choice of players, formation, training, tactics and man-management. He has cost us players of the quality of Adebayor, Bellamy, Petrov Ireland and soon, Tevez. have the replacements improved the quality of our squad? Never!
He is an unqualified disaster in England and we would be better off without him even if Kidd took over or the players managed by committee (almost).

I can't believe the number of Blues who point to our 4th place and Cup Semi-final as proof of his qualities as a manager. Given the funds at his disposal since he arrived and the quality within our squad - bearing in mind that poor management will often make good players look bad - a semi-house-trained chimpanzee could have done better, let alone an experienced Premiership manager like O'Neill.

He should go tonight and we should beg O'Neill to rescue our season.
