If hes allowed to spend anymore on players that simply are not good enough we will never compete at the very top, the baffling thing is hes bought players that dont even seem to fit the system he likes to play-Dzeko must be banging his head against the wall in the way hes supposed to perform under his wingless wonder system.
No amount of wingers will make up for Dzeko's wretched first touch.

I sometimes wonder whether people on here know anything about football whatsoever.

It's Dzeko's appearances and goals, btw.
And I wonder if they actually read posts or just knee-jerk react and show statistics that back up points I'm not arguing against.

I've personally heard more than enough TBH.

You may have read what Ive said on Twitter which can be summed up thusly -

"Not this again FFS!"

There are people way, way, way above my pay grade who are just as fucked off with this merry-go-round.

But as TH has said on this thread it will be a decision made by a very select few people.

Firstly though they have to convince themselves that their investment in Roberto is now spent. I'm not convinced they are there quite yet.

Great stuff.

Thanks for that.

The decision will be made soon one way or another I'm sure. Whilst the board arent so sure all they have to do is call Moratti.

I think Tolmie is wrong with Mourinho. I know Mendes had some talks with City 4 weeks ago but I didn't hear anything about Mou since that. I know PSG really want him and will offer more money than any other club.

Why?
You've been advocating football discussion all day DD.

Why not now?

Why would we be the laughing stock of football if United won the double? Well it was a faceitious comment in reply to his bizarre assertation that we'd be the "laughing stock" of football should we sack Mancini. I'm pointing out that we are not exactly media darlings now, and that will only get worse should they do the double, For a start it's pretty much guarnateed that they'd beat us along the way. So we'd have to sit there, in Wembley, with their fans gloating and paying us back in spades for last summer. Laughing at us, basically. Then we'd have the media and neutrals going into overdrive about how money doesn't buy success long term, and united have the team and the spirit. All of our work last year would be undone. Our league form, given our wage bill, is poor and could easily get worse before the season ends given our fixtures.

Rest assured that if we end up potless and they win the lot we will be hammered, laughed at, joked about, from all corners. the big bad lucky mercenaries put back in their box by good ol' United.

Let them laugh at us Dave do we really give a f*ck what they think? It will be a disaster if united do the double but if we finish 2nd and win the cup then it’s a great season. It’s all about winning something each year and we can still do that. I am Mancini in all the way and think he deserves one more crack at champions league after what he has done for city. Let them laugh Europe is hard in fact very hard and I don’t think losing to Madrid, Dortmund and Ajax is embarrassing. If Mancini stays he must get us out of group stage no matter what next season

I'm just responding to a point I found rather ludicrous - that we'd be the "laughing stock" of football if we won the cup and sacked Mancini. Ignoring the elephant in the room that we are a long way from winning the cup at the moment, I'm just pointing out that we are already on the way to becoming the moneyed underachievers in the eyes of the public.

Truth is that noone would be laughing, least of all alex Ferguson, if Mourinho came here. We'd be taken a lot more seriously than we currently are at the pinnacle of the game.
You become underachievers over five years or a decade; not one season. Every single top club has dips and plateaus here and there.

-- Thu Feb 21, 2013 4:44 pm --

This will happen a number of times over the coming decades, no matter who our manager is.

Why should we care honestly?

Don’t blame Mancini for the signings when he wanted Rvp, De Rossi and a top class winger but got Garcia, Rodwell and Sinclair and people wonder why we failed in champions league. He spent 40+ million on players he didn’t want but felt he needed more players in case of injuries etc.

He was clearly told you can’t have big players on big wages or he would of gone out and got who he wanted and yes with the team we have we should be doing better but we needed more top players for Europe what he wasn’t allowed so his only mistake was selling in the summer and buying dross he didn’t want. I rate Rodwell and Garcia is getting better but clearly they was not the players Mancini wished for

So Mancini couldnt have the players he really wanted so went out and bought a pile of shite then to spite Marwood and our owners.

Yes, i get it now

It's hardly guaranteed that United would beat us at some stage if they won the FA Cup so you're entire premise is based on a lot of hypotheticals.

We would hardly be a laughing stock due to another teams success. Second place, for arguments sake, leaving out the FA Cup is hardly the worst thing to happen to the club and thus hardly worthy of making us a laughing stock.

Was all of United's work over the Premiership's history undone because they didn't win anything last year and we beat them twice?

No.

Rest assured, if we end up potless this season, I won't lose any sleep over the mean things some hack has to say about my club..

No he needed players to compete. Do you really think he would of signed them players if he could of paid big wages?

hes bought enough players on big wages that have failed already, hes bought poorly fella, there are better players out there than Garcia,Rodwell and Sinclair for the same money or less.Hed have been better off not bothering to be honest instead of filling our squad with inadequate players-weve got our work cut out as it is when we need to move on the likes of Nasri,Dzeko and Kolorov.

We got away with it with Balotelli just at the right time because another 12 months of that clown we have got 10 million for him.

OK, let me spell it out for you, seeing as you didn't get it.

You said "No amount of wingers will make up for Dzeko's wretched first touch."

36 goals in 42 appearances tells me that 1 or 2 good wingers is more than enough to make up for his "wretched first touch". Get it?
