You're right. Poor choice of words. Mourinho rates certain attributes like all managers do. I don't think Dzeko ticks the boxes Mourinho values.

Whatever critism Dzekos detractors have regarding his all round ability - there is no way he can be labelled a failure. If he is judged as a failure then the game of football is well and truly fucked.

I don't think he's a failure either. He was brought up by someone as an example of players not progressing, ie failures, under Mancini.

Yeah I saw that it didn't come from you mate, I just find it hard that anyone would think he's been a failure. Even if you don't rate him, he has done what's required as a striker and his scoring ratio is hard to dismiss.

Don’t blame Mancini for the signings when he wanted Rvp, De Rossi and a top class winger but got Garcia, Rodwell and Sinclair and people wonder why we failed in champions league. He spent 40+ million on players he didn’t want but felt he needed more players in case of injuries etc.

He was clearly told you can’t have big players on big wages or he would of gone out and got who he wanted and yes with the team we have we should be doing better but we needed more top players for Europe what he wasn’t allowed so his only mistake was selling in the summer and buying dross he didn’t want. I rate Rodwell and Garcia is getting better but clearly they was not the players Mancini wished for

He was told we wouldn't spend unlimited mounts of money without freeing up some first which won't surprise anyone. RVP is a good example of that. The deal was in place and personal terms agreed late in 2011, ready for the summer transfer window. But he was told one of the four main strikers had to go (and, I think, which one it would be) and he effectively refused to allow that when there was a good possibility of a deal being struck. So RVP went to the rags. De Rossi simply didn't want to come, whatever Mancini wanted.

I've been told that 24Horas in Chile is "very serious media" ala the BBC, they're reporting it as fact. They said roughly "strong rumours in recent days are now fact" and remember Pellegrini is Chilean. I'm not saying the story is true but it can't be dismissed like a "MANCINI FACING THE AXE!" Daily Star headline.
