Mancini Outers - Who do you suggest?

If he is Sacked it will be Martin Oneil .... at least the press like him and he would get our English players performing at the right sort of level.

Apparently not.

A couple of people have told me he was strongly disliked by journo's North & South of the border.

cant believe people want to sack him after 3 match loss, the same old saying you have to give him time and back him, and we all have to stick together and work our way out of this blip.

He had 6 months to get us from 6th to 4th & failed, I've explained on another thread about the results this season, the disquiet is not to do with 3 results, it's to do with almost a year in charge.

spot on, its about what ive seen this season, time to move on

Or we could win both those matches and look back on this as a blip, there really is no need to panic everytime we lose.

No maneger will ever satisfy people like you, if you think a couple of poor results means we should panic and sack the maneger eventhough we are fourth in the league.

It's not a couple of poor results though.

Here's my quote from the other thread

It's not 3 games though

English Premier Tottenham 0-0 Man City 14-08-2010 - Battered, but a good battling result

UEFA Cup FCU Poli 0-1 Man City 19-08-2010 - Never played well, but won

English Premier Man City 3-0 Liverpool 23-08-2010 - Brilliant performance

UEFA Cup Man City 2-0 FCU Poli 26-08-2010 - Neither up nor down but we won

And then the problems start

English Premier Sunderland 1-0 Man City 29-08-2010 - terrible result - we were battered in the 2nd half

English Premier Man City 1-1 Blackburn 11-09-2010 - terrible performance & result

UEFA Cup SV Salzburg 0-2 Man City 16-09-2010 - played well & won

English Premier Wigan 0-2 Man City 19-09-2010 - played ok - good result

English League Cup West Brom 2-1 Man City 22-09-2010 - terrible performance & result (purely down to the managers choice of players)

English Premier Man City 1-0 Chelsea 25-09-2010 - Cracking game & performance

UEFA Cup Man City 1-1 Juventus 30-09-2010 - Bad performance

English Premier Man City 2-1 Newcastle 03-10-2010 - 2 very lucky decisions won us this game, we were 2nd best

English Premier Blackpool 2-3 Man City 17-10-2010 - again 2 decisions went for us, we were 2nd best

UEFA Cup Man City 3-1 Lech Poznan 21-10-2010 - solid performance & result

English Premier Man City 0-3 Arsenal 24-10-2010 - Bad result not helped by a mistake from a rookie defender while we have an international centre half on the bench

English Premier Wolves 2-1 Man City 30-10-2010 - Went one up, stopped playing & got battered

UEFA Cup Lech Poznan 3-1 Man City 04-11-2010 - shit, but least important of the 4 games coming up in 10 days

English Premier West Brom vs Man City 07-11-2010 - Massive game, we need something before the derby

English Premier Man City vs Man Utd 10-11-2010 - A given we'll win this.

English Premier Man City vs Birmingham 13-11-2010 -not going to be easy against well organised Brum team - even worse if we're going into it on a run of 5 defeats.

These arguments were brought out last season, and after WBA - it's not about 3 games.

IMO Mancini should have gone in the summer, we're not improving & I think he needs to go. I've said it a thousand times, I hope I'm wrong & I hope he proves me wrong & on matchday I will support the team & manager 100%

That might show you where I'm coming from.

we are fourth in the prem mate, and thats all that really matters, I do agree however that some of the football we have played this season have been dire, your suggestion that we go in to panic mode and sack the maneger because you dont like his style of football is not something I dont understand.

We are in the process of building a winning side and you cant do that if you panic everytime things go wrong, in the summer is the time to asess the maneger not 10 games in to the season.

Btw if the owners were to asses Mancini now he would get the thumps up because we are fourth in the league.

But not long ago we were in 2nd, we're on a downward spiral, when do we pull the plug?

6th?
8th?
10th?
18th?

We cant wait till the summer and then say "Shit we're 7th"

Very few managers could definitely take us further than Mancini might be able to. I reckon two managers would probably do a better job:

1. Mourinho
2. Wenger

Neither available.

The following may *possibly* do a better job but it is just as big a risk that may not pay off.

1. Guardiola
2. Redknapp
3. Pellegrini
4. del Bosque
5. Hiddink

None of them available.

After that you get to the very questionable like...

1. Moyes
2. Rijkaard
3. Low
4. O'Neill

Two of them available and one just got sacked after flopping badly in Turkey. The other is O'Neill who I have serious reservations about.

Mancini's job should be safe if only because so few quality managers are available. Not to mention upheaval again is potentially suicidal unless it's a manager who could use our existing squad to better effect.

Excellent post!

You simply have talents that I dont have, i cant predict the future all I can do is put forward an argument based on the facts in front of me, those facts are that we are fourth in the league, and you dont imho sack the maneger when you are in that position.

Sacking the maneger because you fear we might lose games in the near furure is a bit silly.

We have to give him untill the end of the season.

yes moyes is questionable because he hasnt managed a club with the size of our resources but he managed to to get everton to 4th spoth in the 04/05 season and constantly 5th and 6th spots most season with very little money.

NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN

Mourinho (Laughable)
Wenger (Laughable)
Guardiola (Laughable)
Redknapp (Too old wont leave London)
Hiddink (Said hes not interested numerous times and not just city in the prem)

ULTRA HIGH RISK - MAY AS WELL STICK WITH MANCINI

Pellegrini
del Bosque
Rijkaard
Low

That leaves :

Moyes (Thinks he might get the rags job - probably wouldnt come. Our board hate him)
O'Neill

We'd hardly played any games when we were second. We're in the position we should be aiming to finish in with the players we have (we've spent a lot of money but don't let that make you think we've bought players of the quality of Iniesta, Messi, CRonaldo, the real Ronaldo, Zidane and Maradonna - we haven't! we've bought some young lads and some average players but were raped out of the money because we have it!).

We aren't playing well but we now have everyone back fit apart from MJohnson so if we get a bit of a solid team with a run of games and we improve we should start doing okay.

The only thing I'm not happy with was loaning out someone who was man of the match about ten times last season in Bellamy!

There were four better teams than us last season, so what else was to be done. We were probably the 5th or 6th best team last season and finished 5th. I know the club set a target of fourth but we were well short of being the fourth best team in the Prem even if we did have a shout for a while.

Spurs are really good you know, probably still better than us now! The waves aren't just gonna part just because Khaldoon al Mubarak and Garry Cooke says we need to finish in the top four. It's still just 11 v 11 every week and many of the players we have aren't as good as many think they are!
