Swales would have hated every minute of this, he was without question one of the most egocentric men ever to role the role of chairman(and with Ken Bates also being a chairman thats saying something!)at a football club in England and even worse than that high office with the FA. Never forget thst he is the jackass that not only wouldn't hire Clough for City manager a number of times, but also hired Ron Greenwood for the England job over Clough!! People will go on about Swales being a blue, rubbish Swales supported Swales.

For me he wanted City to be at the pinnacle of English football and we can do that this year he wanted what I want and that is good enough for me.I have no interest in what he did with England and I know he made mistake's with City but I was a young lad when I met him and he was all City as far as I am concerned.
I would agree with England, other than it shows his major flaw which was he had to be the center of the ship with those around him working for him, if he had hired Clough for either City or England it would have shown he could put his ego aside. The England one is more shocking because of the man he hired and how hopelessly mis-matched they were.

His ego was his major flaw and I agree he would want total control which would have caused problem's with Clough, talk about clash of the ego's.He did'nt listen to football people around him and thought he knew better but I still have a soft spot for him looking back.

How do you feel about him at the moment? serious question because with so much of the media changing their stance i wondered if you would be giving him your full support at the moment.

i think the very few that wanted mancini out have realised that stability is the name of the game.
something we have not had since joe mercer was forced out.

long may it continue, especially as he has now got to grips with the english game.

Bill... you little devil.... lol

you off to espana?

The most important part of his job he's done, which is designing a balanced team who fullfil their potential on the field. The current team is doing that and have been since the cup semi. He deserves huge praise for that and i will be eternally grateful for last weeks win.

He still does things I don't like, like picking kolo in Munich. I also think his people management skills are patchy and he loses his cool under pressure.

But the ends obviously justify the means at the moment -in spades. The season could still collapse of course , but I don't think it will. I've said since the end of last season the title is the target because we are the best team and I am very optimistic that we will win it. Last season I didn't think he had that in him but he's proved me wrong.

Do I still have doubts about him? Yes, if I'm brutally honest, but a lot less than I had 12 months ago. The best thing is that as a manager, the more success you have, the more the weaknesses I perceive become less important. What I mean by that is that the more you win things, the more respect the players have for you, and the more you learn about your team.

This season is the litmus test. So far so good. So far so fucking brilliant in fact . These days as a blue are like living a dream.

Mancini outers? Do they even exist anymore?
I'll admit I was one. I've done a complete about turn in my opinion of him now because he's done a complete about turn in how we play. I have also completely changed my opinion on Balotelli. I am a very fickle, short-sighted, impatient and unreasonable man. Mancini has shown himself to be the perfect manager to run our club. I, however, couldn't be trusted to run a bath.

Unlike me, as I backed him. So I am an astute, far-sighted, patient and wise man. I'm also devilishly good looking and hung like a Blackpool donkey. Added to this I am also the nicest person you could wish to meet.

I'm not going to trawl through old threads Bill but I'm pretty certain you were highly critical of Mr Mancini last season. Let's have no lectures from you fella!!!!!!!
