Mancini/Pellegrini rumours (10/05/13) (cont)

I wouldn't waste any breath on the Ostrich brigade, they are ridiculously narrow minded through emotional attachment and an acceptance of mediocracy.

Its painfully obvious Mancini is out of his depth, subsequently,
giving him another season will simply produce more of the same tactically inept and soulless performances that we have witnessed for much of this year.

Like any Blue,i crave consistency and stability but certainly not at the expense of performance and expectation.

Unfortunately Mancini is not the man to fully realise our potential and ambitions,he has played his part well and that will not be forgotten, however, its now time for him to go.

So we are giving up on a manager who spent a fortune, to take us from a mid table team to champions and FA cup wieners in a 6 team league to a manager...

Who spent a fortune to take a top 2 side in 2 team league to second

why is that such an achievement for city fans!

You have world class players. Ancelotti did the same thing at Chelsea with similar players and won as much as Mancini has in just 1 season....

Losing in an fa cup final 2 wigan is unforgivable imo. It's not like it was a one off game, it was a final and you lost to a team that will probably be relegated!
Mancini's tactics and subs were a major reason for this. Nasri and Tevez should never have went off. Mancini is an overrated manager.
If you have him next year, you'll be exiting the CL, in the group stages again.

And you have to pray you don't draw Bayern Munich .....

Hello Mr positive you keep saying the same thing over and over. Why are you so sure an other would make any difference. What you going to do next if we are behind the leading 2 having had a poor start to the season, after embedding a new manager system players etc.

Superb post and one that every Mancini lover should read in the cold light of day

Yeah Bernabia-I have read it and changes fuck all for me.
Let me just clarify this - HE HAS WON ABSOLUTELY FUCK ALL!

So the post doesn't change your view point whatsoever on Mancini and his tactics? Then I suggest you read it again

I agree with both of you really. It most definitely makes you take another look at Mancini but not with pelligrini as a replacement. I suppose neither have achieved what they should/could have.

Great post BTW John des.

No the trophy cabinet is what has formed my opinion over the past 3 yrs about Mancini.
We lost a game of football to Wigan. Do you think we have a god given right to just win every fucking game?? I won't say what I am thinking.

This is what makes me laugh about you. Straw man arguments all the time. Completely ignore the debate about repeated tactical ineptitude against the same types of teams playing the same way, and try and turn it into one about fans thinking we have a God given right to win every game. Well, no, of course we don't. Any team can lose a football match, but coming up short against every team that employs a high press, and has a bit of pace and width (Southampton, Liverpool, Dortmund, Swansea, Madrid, Ajax, Everton), is a different matter. FFS, we even had a dress rehearsal against Wigan 3 weeks ago, so we knew exactly what to expect, and yet we were still totally unprepared. Thankfully our owners aren't quite as blind......

Did we come up short against Chelsea, the other week? How about stuffing the Rags at their place once again, how many teams in the league have done that?
Why weren't the Rags playing at the FA cup final? It must mean their manager is even more shit than ours. Why didn't they get much further in the CL than the quarter finals, after an opening group against no mark teams? That Fergie is looking more and more like a complete bell end isn't he?
The problem is not SHblue constructing strawman arguments, the problem is this knee jerk lashing out at the manager. We may well be replacing him, but when we play Wigan next season, and if we get beaten, the logical thing to do would be to fuck Pellegrini off wouldn't it?

Doesn't matter if they pressed or not,we would have lost that game yesterday whatever tactics Mancini employed because the 11 fucking overpaid millionaires didn't want to try because they thought they would just have to turn up.
I am not going to get into name calling because it obviously floats your boat.

They all fucked up yesterday,Mancini and the players,a collective responsibility. I think its fair to say Mancini has struggled tactically against Wigan,Sunderland etc.The fact that he didn't get his preferred transfer targets last summer should give him a seasons grace. We perform like this again next season ,when he gets his targets in this summer he has no excuses.

Warning - Pissed off City fan who attended the game today, sat in the Gods.

No questions time to go Roberto. Still can't believe some fans still want him here all in the name of "stability". Fuck me people need to open their eyes. The football we have been playing the past year or so has been overly-cautious and stagnant it's unacceptable considering quality of players we have at this club, and today to go out in a prestigious cup final and get utterly torn apart by a relegated threatened side speaks volumes. Personally, I feel the squad would benefit from a bit of change. We've been found out numerous occasions this year and Mancini's tactics have been baffling to say the least (Tevez off for Rodwell?) and our owners/fans deserve better.

Pellegrini in please for the time being as a stopgap and then in Klopp or Pep if he fancies the challenge 3 or 4 years down the line as a potential long-term replacement.
I don't disagree with you. Mancini has taken the club as far as he can in my view. This season has been a disaster - we've gone backwards. Humbled by Villa in the cup, had our pants pulled down in Europe, timid league performances and another spineless performance in an FA CUP FINAL at Wembley. Considering the money spent and team we have = rubbish.

The impetus and swagger from last season has vanished and you can only blame the manager when wondering where it has gone. Too many slackers, not enough motivation. I struggle to name one convincing, 'won at a canter' performance this season whereas I could name 5+ mesmerising performances last season. That's worrying. It saddens me to hear Zaba talking publicly about "no passion" after the final. For City fans to then delude themselves and defend Mancini is well... wanting to deny the truth.

Re. Pellegrini - he is a top manager. What he did at Villarreal was like something off Football Manager. Most of all he's a motivator - something which Mancini is clearly not as the lethargic season has proved. Not to mention his Champions League record is no accident - he a master when it comes to tactics and pulling in one direction. It's a punt worth taking and I think it's already been decided. Txiki is a long-term admirer of Pellegrini.

I think the Southampton match was a big turning point for Mancini's future. That was the worst performance in years.

Great post and spot on for me.

The line between those who get it, and those who just spout out the easiest explanation to a problem is becoming increasingly clear here. You're amongst those who just spout shit out without discussing why, how, where, or any variables.

Nevermind who hired, coached, and sent those 11 players out. Nevermind who took two of our best performing players off as soon as possible. Its not the guy who did those things, its just a bunch of lazy men out on a pitch floundering about.

Poor Mancini, if only those overpaid pros he hired, coached, and selected yesterday, actually gave a shit about the game. If only someone had saved Mancini from his own decisions.

-- Sun May 12, 2013 2:42 am --

I don't even think Mancini himself could honestly disagree with anything said above.
