Thanks for updating 'Bow. A quick look at the table shows they've also got the best defensive record as well as being second in the league.

With Bobby in charge?

What a surprise.

Re: Mancini Thread

Just a note. I know this is bit of a strange situation but this thread is for discussing Galatasaray and Mancini's work there, as it's in General Football and it isn't really about City. If you want to talk about Mancini's recent comments about City, there's a thread in the Bluemoon Forum.

Latest from Super Lig

Is Bob about to do the impossible? After being 9 points behind at one stage, the gap is now down to 4pts as Fenerbahce slipped up again, this time away to Sivasspor, where they lost 2-0. Goal difference has improved hugely and Bob's only 2 goals behind them.

Cim Bom Bom (too much?) won 3-0 this week and interestingly there was no Drogba, Sneider or Eboue this time around. Goals came from Yilmaz, Chedjou and Bulut.

Results for the top 4 teams:

07/02….Gazientepspor (11)…..….1-2……..Besiktas (3)
08/02….Galatasaray (2)…………….3-0……..Eskisehirspor (5)
09/02….Sivasspor (4)….…………….2-0….....Fenerbahce (1)

What that means for the table is:

1)…Fenerbahce…20…14…..2….4….44…..+22
2)…Galatasaray…20….11….7….2….49…..+20
3)…Besiktas..…….19….10….6….3….36…..+14
4)…Sivasspor…….20….11….2….7….35…..+10

Besiktas visit Kasimpasa on Tuesday for their game in hand, but the next round of games are:

16/02….Besiktas (3)………….…..….vs……..Bursaspor (10)
16/02….Fenerbahce (1)…………….vs……..Kasimpasa (5)
17/02….Antalayaspor (14)…….….vs….....Galatasaray (2)
17/02….Eskisehirspor (6)…….….vs……….Sivasspor (4)

Re: Mancini Thread

Mancini working wonders at gala! I knew he would do good. The transformation has been remarkable. He still on course for a treble chance himself. He got gala to qualify from champs league group somehow, even with a great Real Madrid and juventus team in their group. Plus Copenhagen are no mugs either.

He also climbed all the way from 11th to 2nd in league. Just 4 points off fernebache. They are starting to wobble. I think bob might pull it off. Bobby also in semi of the Turkish cup too after securing a top 2 finish in group!

He's won everywhere he been at and it looks set to continue.

It's great to see both parties doing great. Man city under pellegrini flying, still in with a chance of all 4 trophies, playing great footy. Mancini doing great at gala. Could be a legendary season for both! :)

Roberto Mancini has claimed Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiriastain acted liked "Judas" by talking to Pep Guardiola and Carlo Ancelotti about replacing him as Manchester City manager last February.

The Italian was sacked in May and succeeded by Manuel Pellegrini but Mancini believes that Sorriano, the chief executive, and director of football, Begiristain, had been talking to other managers for months ahead of the decision.

"I know a lot of people in football and I found out afterwards that they were talking to three or four managers in February, March and April. I know they were talking to Pep Guardiola and Carlo Ancelotti. And these were the same people I sat down with for dinner before the FA Cup final," Mancini, who is now in charge of Galtasaray, told the Sun. "It was like Judas. I trusted the chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak 100% but not those other two guys, probably he just followed them.

"Some people just don't have the courage to talk face to face. Even Khaldoon did not tell me to my face what was happening. He could not just come up to me and say, 'We did four years together, we won everything, we are happy, but now the job is finished.'

"Instead, they were working behind my back and sacked me two games before the end of the season. I did not even have the chance to say goodbye to the Manchester City fans."

Re: Mancini Thread

There's a big thread upstairs about this - or are you looking to start a more reasoned debate? :))
